2022 and MU will need to work on the midfield and replace Matic, resolve other midfield issues with DvdB and PP and replace Cavani with another striker. A back-up to AWB is also still required. It is likely a G will also be required. Players an interest has been shown in:
Nordi Mukiele (RWB/ CB) RBL have again been approached by Atletico Madrid over the availability of NM as a Trippier replacement, but he is not top of their list aand RBL are looking to him extending his contract. PSG had him on their list of RB options in the summer bit opted for Hakimi. A number of sides have been sending scouts to watch the player including Manchester United and Chelsea. Prior interest of Spurs left with Mr Mourinho, but it may have reappeared at Roma. RBL has no interest in selling.
Max Aarons (RB) Bayern Munich decided against a move as the cost is seen as too high and Roma has opted for another - Manchester United want him as cover only and that will likely price him out of a move at something like £30M. Spurs opted for another and Everton and Arsenal interest has gone for now.
Nathan Patterson (RB) Manchester United could look to the Rangers player as cover but that would likely not deter the kid. Everton have tried for a year to sign him but are not an attractive option and were only interested in derisory offers.
Wesley Fofana (CB) Has been recommended to Newcastle. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea have all sent scouts to watch him.
Tyler Adams (DM/ RB) has attracted the interest of Arsenal with Manchester United asking his agent about availability - RBL will not be looking to sell.
Boubacar Kamara (DM/ CB) is doing himself no favours by not committing to a new contract. Bayern Munich are still keen and may well have a pressing need to replace Marc Roca in January. Marseille have been approached by a third party on behalf of Newcastle, but they will be seen as a less than attractive option. Milan may just bite and look for a pre-contract, but Marseille could look to a January sale with ex scout Georges Santos joining West Ham and recommending the player - but he would probably be a Declan Rice replacement if anything were to happen, so it is unlikely. Interest of Chelsea has shifted elsewhere but Barcelona remains keen on taking Boubacar Kamara and a member of the Marseille staff. The member of Marseille staff says she is still hopeful that agreement can be reached to extend his contract. If there is no decision by the end of December, then Marseille accept he will move on - possibly as a Free Agent. Manchester United have spoken with his agent, which would be as a Matic replacement. Manchester City, like Chelsea, have a preferred option now.
Declan Rice (DM) Price may block a move but there remains interest from Manchester United and there is interest from Manchester City. West Ham will resist a move, but the player could push for it.
Kalvin Phillips (DM) a financially more viable option to Declan Rice and Manchester United have enquired in the past. Leeds will resist selling.
Aurelien Tchouameni (DM/ CM) Juventus and Chelsea have all declared an interest in the player and have both held discussions with Monaco. Manchester United could look to him as a Paul Pogba replacement. Borussia Dortmund are interested in upgrading Axel Witsel and have looked at him as have others, such as Liverpool and Manchester City, without declaring an interest. Real Madrid opted for Camavinga and will concentrate on other priorities. Monaco have told clubs that they are not looking to sell. Juve may make an offer in January and may look to include a player in any deal - that could result in an offer from Chelsea and just possibly Real Madrid - who would look to include a player in any deal. Very unlikely.
Ruben Neves (DM/ CM) Wolves would look to get as close to €50M as they can if circumstances dictate Neves is sold, but they certainly don't want to sell and have made clear that he has a long-term contract and there have been no approaches at this time. Mr Mourinho is a huge fan and has tried to take him to three different clubs in the past - and he would, I am sure be interested in taking him to Roma, but their focus right now is elsewhere. He has always been seen as an option to replace Matic at Manchester United, but they have other priorities to deal with first and preferred options - although Wolves might see an offer. His agent has been actively offering him around and has spoken with Juventus who are looking to offload players but none that I would expect Wolves to be interested in. The Spurs coach would like him as an upgrade to Sissoko (who has now left) and Ndombele but it is likely both would need to leave as they have added another addition in midfield as well - if Winks were sold an offer is likely. Arsenal are likely now out of the picture.
Marcelo Brozovic (DM/ CM) a Free Agent in 2022 and will possibly be sold if a new contract cannot be agreed by January - both sides want an agreement. He becomes attractive to PSG and Spurs if he becomes a Free Agent.
Yves Bissouma (CM/ DM) Brighton would like to continue to resist any approaches although time may be running out now - with the player having made known his desire for the club to consider offers for him although has not formally requested a transfer. He shares a "representative" with Pepe who he spent a season with at Lille and he failed to persuade Arsenal to move for him - and they have now likely moved on. Interest of Spurs may not have departed with Mr Mourinho with them moving on Sissoko and looking for an upgrade on Ndombele - although he will not be first choice. Monaco may have provided an option but I suspect the price will be too high for them and they have a first choice preference. he is not home grown makes him less attractive to most English sides although Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool and Leicester have spoken with his representative. He is not first choice for Manchester City but they could return - Manchester United do not currently have space in the midfield and have a preferred target to replace Pogba and clear DM targets, but don't lose sight of them - Liverpool interest remains but they may not have the money without sales. There is a further complication in that his family is directly involved in all major decisions. Brighton have made clear to one side who enquired that they will be looking to get as close as they can to £50M - although that seems rather unlikely now.
Tanguy Ndombele (CM/ DM) Offered to Lyon and Sevilla but no takers at the moment - Spurs would look for a fee in the region of £35M but the player's wages would be a huge problem for most clubs. Roma may offer a solution. May talk with Lyon again - perhaps an exchange for Aouar? Barcelona may look to a deal including Coutinho or possibly as part of a deal including ter Stegen - but a move to Spurs may not be attractive to the player. Manchester United may provide an option as a Paul Pogba replacement - but he won't be first choice.
Amadou Haidara (CM) Opted for RBL over Southampton when he left RBS. An approach from Lokomotiv Moscow who wanted to add a little experience to their very young midfield was rejected and the thought is that Rangnick may take his interest to Manchester United - more of a Fred than a Pogba. He would be significantly cheaper at around €40M than the players they have been showing an interest in like Bellingham and Milinkovic-Savic. Something can be done.
Jude Bellingham (CM) Manchester United and Chelsea were keen before he moved to Germany and will be interested again when he is made available for sale - and expect interest from Manchester City and potentially Liverpool as well. Dortmund will not be forced in to selling him next year and will seek a huge fee when he is sold.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) No intention of selling and it would take a huge offer of perhaps €80M-€100M to make them reconsider. At that price the interested parties, Juventus and PSG, would want to include players in any deal. Inter are priced out of a move. Real Madrid would prefer him over Pogba. Manchester United may still be interested but have a preferred target.
John McGinn (CM) Aston Villa don't want to sell but the player would be open to a step up with interest from Manchester United dating back a couple of years.
Franck Kessié (CM) Efforts are being made to secure a new contract, but the issue is over the wages continues with Milan struggling. Could potentially be sold but I expect agreement to be reached eventually else there will be a lot of interest with Juventus looking to meet his demands. Interest of Mr Mourinho at Spurs and now Roma remains. Spurs also want him as an Ndombele replacement but the player remains keen to move to Chelsea to eventually replace Kante - but Chelsea turned down the offer from his agent initially although a proposal is on the table that would suit both clubs and the player. His agent has also approached Manchester United and PSG but both sides would need to move a player on in order to add Kessie - but both are interested. An option may exist with Barcelona considering a deal for Kessie that will involve Umtiti. His agent has also spoken with Liverpool and Leicester who may be interested in agreeing a pre-contract in January but both have preferred targets.
Luis Diaz (LW/ LM/ AM/ F) Porto rejected an offer from Spurs in 2020 and Mr Mourinho is thought to be keen on taking him to Roma and moving Justin Kluivert on permanently. Spurs do remain keen and Atletico have a declared interest. The player has been offered to Chelsea and Everton and has been scouted by Newcastle, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund at the behest of his agent, although with Ancelotti gone Everton are not an option. His agent would like to organise a move to Real Madrid, but they will not be looking to spend the required €80M cash on him so has now approached both Manchester clubs.
Florian Wirtz (AM) has admirers in Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern Bayern Munich. Newcastle have a very experienced third party scouting players in Germany for them and have also looked at Wirtz. Has signed a new long-term contract but is playing well and Bayern might well look to an offer in the summer. Bayer Leverkusen will not want to sell and will point to the length of his contract. One for 2023 perhaps.
The player has been offered to Chelsea and Everton and has been scouted by Newcastle, Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund at the behest of his agent, although with Ancelotti gone Everton are not an option. His agent would like to organise a move to Real Madrid but they will not be looking to spend the required €80M cash on him so has now approached both Manchester clubs.
Erling Braut Haaland (S) As it stands right now, it will come down to the wishes of the player with Real Madrid sustaining their interest and Bayern Munich offering him the chance to stay in Germany. Dortmund will try and persuade him to sign an extension but cannot match or even come close the salary others can offer. Barcelona would need to make further huge wage savings to make anything possible, but don't rule it out. Real Madrid will make a huge effort to sign both Haaland and Mbappe for next season, although PSG will be making a very significant offer for Mbappe to stay in Paris a year or two more. The Real Madrid plan was to take Mbappe last summer and Haaland this coming summer but right now they are planning for both in the summer. Bayern Munich may look to an early agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Haaland to replace Lewandowski - Dortmund won't be keen but his agent is happy to follow this route to do what is best for the player. Juventus accept their focus is on other positions and players but do have an advantage in meeting the huge wage demands over other clubs - but not the money to buy him without sales. I expect Manchester City, if they can resolve an issue or two that they have and can find a way to make the finances work could look to Haaland. Manchester City had a preferred first choice target as an Aguero replacement, but he probably will not be available now, so their focus may shift to Haaland but only if the overall cost can be significantly reduced. The coach would prefer someone else, and the club would likely support the coach. Mino has spoken with Chelsea and has met with the owner to discuss Haaland, but the financial demands are going to be huge, and are still not fully understood at this time. A further meeting was held to try to understand better what the club would offer for Haaland going forward - although they remain put off by the overall costs and would seek a lower-cost solution. Again, I would not rule out Chelsea adding regardless of having signed Lukaku and they could look to including a player in the deal. Barcelona have discussed options with Mino but committing cash they do not have right now might make it difficult for them and they would need to let go of a couple of highly regarded youngsters to raise funds. PSG want to hold on to Mbappe for a year or two more, so they won't focus on EH and I would rule them out as an option even when that situation changes in the summer. Manchester United really blew their chance to sign to player previously and have wrecked the relationship with his agent which would make it very difficult. The cost of the overall package would rule out Liverpool being able to sign him. Haaland certainly wants a move to Real Madrid and Real Madrid want him - and it seems likely it can happen although it may suit them to wait another year or they will have a wage issue. One thing is for certain, Mino will be doing what is best for his player and not simply chasing money as everyone keeps inferring. He wants to hear the plans the clubs have for themselves going forward and how Haaland can fit in and help with that project - he gets a huge amount of bad press which is largely unwarranted and from people who don't know him. Spain over Germany or England seems the preference for the player right now and staying an additional year or two at Dortmund cannot be ruled out - but the player will want an escape route so a termination clause would be required. Very unlikely.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) with Everton in need of adding a striker the chances of DCL being sold unless a very significant offer arises are small. However, Arsenal are still looking for a striker and interest remains. The Real Madrid coach has said he is one of the rare English players who he thinks would take to football on the continent - so there may be interest. Other clubs looking for a striker such as Spurs have other preferred options. Manchester United may also provide an option.
Ricardo Pepi (S) FC Dallas youngster who has been scouted by Bayern Munich, Juventus, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen and others. Had a trial with Bayern Munich and they may make an offer - and has had trials with a number of other sides. Player wants to move to Chelsea. Manchester United have made a proposal for the player but it is not attractive as it stands. Do not be surprised by an offer from start-up St Louis but Wolfsburg may well be the first stop in Europe.
Youssef En-Nesyri (S) West Ham and Manchester United apparently, via a third party, have made an approach to ask about availability and price for the player who has done well this season, but has mot set the world alight previously. Will be off the AFCON when it comes around. Makes little sense given Sevilla are not looking to sell and would demand around €50M but there remains the thought both sides could will look again. It would be doubtful he would be a starter for Manchester United. Arsenal has also shown interest in the player as a replacement for Lacazette but they need to raise funds to balance the books and could only be a viable option if a significant sale were made.

2022 and MU will need to work on the midfield and replace Matic, resolve other midfield issues with DvdB and PP and replace Cavani with another striker. A back-up to AWB is also still required. It is likely a G will also be required. Players an interest has been shown in:

Player who may leave or clubs have shown an interest in:
Dean Henderson (G) Manchester United want to keep DH but he wants guarantees with Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Spurs considering their options. Newcastle may offer an immediate solution. Common sense dictates keep Henderson, but I suspect the club think otherwise. Perhaps a loan again.
Diogo Dalot (RB/ LB) Roma want dedicated cover for Rick Karsdorp with Santon having moved to another position and Reynolds not being ready. For a cheap deal, they remain keen but MU have been reluctant to let him leave.
Alex Telles (LWB) The club may be open to a sale but probably not a loan.
Axel Tuanzebe (CB) loan to permanent option for Aston Villa.
Phil Jones (CB) an option for Burnley if James Tarkowski leaves. Else would likely need to drop down to the Championship to find a club where he would start. Maybe a loan.
Victor Lindlof (CB) will likely move on in the summer.
Nemanja Matic (DM) Jose Mourinho would have liked to take him to Rome with him. Will likely stay until the summer with Garner then replacing him, or perhaps another.
Paul Pogba (CM) offered to Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Juventus and will be available as a Free Agent in 2022 and a pre-agreement will almost certainly be signed in January. Manchester United have wrecked the relationship with his agent. I doubt that the club would meet any demands which Mino Raiola would want to agree a new contract. PSG are looking to add an experienced midfield player still and lost out on two of their targets in the summer but are the least attractive of the options due to the profile of the league and they will be making a significant fee for a preferred option. However, paying a significant fee for the hostage was never part of their plans but if something can be done at a reasonable price, they may provide an option - don't lose sight of them as a new employer. Real Madrid have a preferred target as a Luka Modric replacement although discussions will continue with his agent. With other plans for the summer the wage bill will be a major issue - else something can be done. Pogba has made it clear he really wants Real Madrid to be his next destination but again the relationship between some in Madrid and his agent is not great, and Zidane has gone. Juventus have other priorities in CM but there have been general talks and he might be a realistic option at the right price if he can be picked up as a Free Agent. Juventus would have looked to including a player in the deal (Federico Bernardeschi) last summer - which would be great but he is also represented by Mino who the amateurs don't want to deal with - so that ended that option. Juventus have a significant financial advantage due to tax laws in Italy and others departing but are planning on another but won't want to put the funds up for Pogba in January and will look to a pre-contract agreement. More attractive than PSG but not as attractive as the Spanish clubs. Mino has approached Barcelona but their financial problems are not resolved and his wages would be a problem. Their plans are fluid with a new coach coming in and further departures being planned. Financially, running his contract down offers the best option to the player - and it gives him an escape plan from Manchester.
Donny van de Beek (CM) Everton provide an option - his agent is also looking for other options and he has been offered through a third party to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Wolves but the Spanish sides have not asked for more information. Manchester United will now let him leave in the summer but the player wants out in January if possible. Manchester United may well block that and again hold another player hostage with his value likely to have halved from what they paid for him.
Jesse Lingard (AM) Needs to move on. Everton, Newcastle and West Ham may offer options. Out of contract in the summer which means it will be difficult to get much return if trying to sell him in January. Player may look to a pre-contract agreement and a decent signing on fee elsewhere.
Facundo Pellistri (RW) Loan at Alaves is not going well but interest of Brugges has not gone away.
Amad Diallo (W) wanted by Feyenoord - and a tentative agreement for an 18 month loan - Feyenoord want an option to buy whereas Manchester United want to review any option at the end of the season. Player keen to move on with interest from elsewhere.
Anthony Martial (F) Could be let go to raise funds after the arrival of Ronaldo. His agent has spoken with Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Sevilla and Arsenal, no doubt amongst others.
Edison Cavani (S) Free Agent but wages would be an issue for Palmeiras who he would like to join. May get a year at Corinthians if they can get sponsorship else as cover at a high-profile European side. Barcelona offer a short-term option but need to move Depay and another on.
