I'm not going to pretend to have ever watched Senne Lammens but had a look at a compilation of every shot he faced in 2024-2025. These is my thoughts:
Saved two out of three penalties last season
Shot stopping - tries to catch the ball if possible and if he can't, parries it wide. An improvement on Onana.

I know our keepers are poor but, if we get Lammens, I'd like to see him loaned out to another side in a more competitive league than Belgium. Otherwise I fear we're just setting him up for failure.

Ken, that's a poor comparison. Schmeichel won 4 titles in Denmark before joining and had played 40+ times for his country. If you think this guy is at that level then I'm all for keeping him. But if he's not seen as a guaranteed starter then I don't think it's that helpful to his development, or to our aims, to have him sitting on the bench all year.

Don red tbh if he is half as decent as all the stats seem to point too he won't be in the bench for long.
Can see onana being sold maybe to Saudi or turkey if we can get the right money.

Sell onana, play bayinder, develop lammens asap. He is well scouted and seems to be the chosen guy. We've brought pretty good players in recently, so let's hope that continues.
At a very basic level, lammens is a tall guy who also uses his feet pretty well it seems. I like a big keeper, but sometimes big keepers struggle with the ball close to them. He uses his feet to make saves well, similar to DDG.
We all know the utd shirt weighs heavy. The scouts and people in charge have to earn their money when they select a keeper. Hopefully they get it right, we definitely need a new plan from what we've got.

Bolger3 all reports suggest the aim was to buy a keeper that could compete with Onana rather than replace him. Quite obviously if the intent is for him to be first choice that changes things. Didn't think I needed to spell it out.

Don we are not spending that money for him to be on the bench. Onana will be gone imo.

We are spending that money for him to become our first choice GK. I've no doubt about that. You're talking about this like he's a sure thing. I'd delighted if he can translate his form in the Belgian league to the EPL. Honestly I'm surprised at how definite you all are, and that you see no merit in what I'm saying.

Don, no chance he'll be loaned out. I expect one of Onana or Bayindir to leave this summer if Lammens signs.
It looks like the club are being sensible with how they conduct business this summer. Working though the priority of need, they spoke with Lammens earlier in the summer, then seemed to shelve it while they completed deals for Mbeumo and Sesko, as well as exploring the possibility of signing Baleba. Once they realised that Baleba was a non-starter this summer instead of seriously exploring a second or third choice midfielder they instead went back in for their first choice keeper.
It seems to be all about improving the squad as best possible. Personally I'd rather us sign a potential first choice keeper over our 2nd or 3rd choice to Baleba. Leaving it open to sign Baleba next summer while also putting ourselves in pole position for his signature.

Like Rasmus all those that say he full of potential, many EPL teams are crying out for a forward Newcastle for one, and reported we only want 30 million, but no one coming knocking is there, that says it all
These players are just not very good and certainly not suited to the EPL.
