Any chance at all of Utd signing Isak from Newcastle?

Lol. That would be nice. I imagine he's among the most expensive players in the world right now. He'd have been exactly the player we'd have gone for back in the day.
Funnily enough Liverpool are still mooted as a destination, despite Ekitike being seen as a more obtainable version of Isak. Serious wonga they've been forking out.

Not this summer, the fee would be far too big. Next summer we might be able to if he's still at Newcastle and if he's looking bro leave.

I wonder whether we could do a deal with PSG where we take Muani on loan for a year with an option to buy next summer.

That way we have a top striker this summer, but we aren't locked into having to pay a large fee for them. Which in theory at least might free up some money to spend on a top midfielder this summer rather than likely having to wait until next summer so sign a top midfielder.

Then next summer if Isak is available then we can decide between signing Muani on a permanent deal or trying to sign Isak.

I'm probably (absolutely definitely) dreaming here, but getting a young keeper like Lammens, Muani on loan and someone like Baleba this summer would be absolutely amazing business.

We could in theory later in the window make the move for Baleba once we have sold a few players to raise funds and after most of the teams who'd compete for his signature have already spent their transfer budget giving us a fairly free run at him.

For me he is the clear best option for midfield for us. A genuine top level talent, whose EPL proven and has potential to become world class.

If we are competing against any other top clubs for him then we almost certainly miss out.

Yet having to sell to raise funds might actually open up opportunities later in the window for us for players other clubs don't feel are gettable this summer so move for other targets instead giving us a free run at them.

Why would Isaak come to United? He's at the top of his gane and has the pick of clubs. He looks at us and sees chaos. Until we demonstrate stability and progress, the very top players will choose elsewhere. I hate to say that, but it's true.

Shappy, I got one of numerous essays when I suggested Baleba as a dream signing a few weeks ago :D.

? just posted about this. The fallout from Newcastle fans if he signed for us would be worth all the millions he cost alone!

As good as Baleba could be, it’s Brighton, so the asking price is likely to be £100m.

And apparently Liverpool are interested in him.

Wishful thinking with Issak even contemplating us, why would he! Shappy even got wishful thinking for the following season, I would imagine he would have a choice of top level clubs willing to pay the fee and the salary, according to you lot we don’t want to spend huge amounts on fees and salaries no more!
We are not even a stepping stone to Madrid no more, unfortunately!

We are a miserable team, aspiring to break into the top 6 and will invest accordingly.

Midtable, but miserable also works.

A miserable mid table, works even better.
