£62.5m bid rejected for Mbeumo. I don’t we should let them us hold to ransom. I’d rather say stick it and purely on principle ( but is a player I think will be great for Utd ) I’d pay the £65 mil Eze . Clubs as per usually trying to charge us premium because it’s Man Utd . I’d lay the marker down now tell them no and then make sure we absolutely obliviate them when we play them this season .

Or tell them no and take him for free next year. With a double loss for Brentford.

Then Brentford activate their year option and make you look pretty dumb.

Agree. Think we have made a fair offer, right at the top end of what he's likely worth. Time to move on, especially since this is playing out in public. That way we make it clear we are not willing to pay stupid money, aka the United Tax.

Would have been a good signing, but probably time to walk away. £60m+ for a player who has only had one standout season is already pushing it. They won’t find anybody else who’d pay that.

Once you overpay for one target, every selling club in the window smells blood. Suddenly, your valuation means nothing—because they know you’ll fold under pressure. That’s exactly what happened with some of our other signings, drawn-out sagas, inflated fees, and underwhelming returns.

If you believe Mbuemo’s price is beyond what he’s worth, walk away. It’s not just about this deal, it’s about setting the tone for the rest of the window. Show you’ll move on, and clubs will stop treating you like a blank cheque.

Discipline now saves millions and regrets later.

Not dumb at all Ken, even unilateral one year extensions have to have the agreement of both parties. I don't want us to walk away at all but we need to stop giving in or other clubs will continue to take the pxxs.

Who knows what is actually going on, the fees being offered, the structure of the deal, whether or not it's been accepted or rejected is all conjecture.

It's what people in the media are saying is happening with absolutely no evidence that what they are saying is true, with no accountability for what they say.

The club will work on a deal that they are happy with, if they cannot agree a deal that satisfactory then they will move on to other targets.

Save yourself the high blood pressure and ignore all the media guff designed to farm clicks and get engagement for the sole purpose of them making money and nothing to do with presenting you with any truth. They really don't care if what they say is true or not, as long as it makes them money.

I think we are pretty close, we aren’t going to walk away, the amounts the press are saying aren’t quite as high as the offer we put in, I’m sure we will get him for a decent price. He’s a huge signing for us, probably the one I’ve been most excited for in a long time, I think we will go up to £65m and get him.

28 Jun 2025 10:24:32
Whilst I really like Eze, he plays in exactly the same position that we’ve bought Cunha for.

We’ll get Mbuemo in the end, I just hope we’re working on multiple other deals in and out at the same time.

Would be worth speaking to Brentford and asking them if they’d be interested in Collyer on loan for a year to seal the BM deal. Collyer would suit them down to the ground and with no European football at OT next season, he’s unlikely to get a kick for us.

The contract extention can be tried without even taking to the player the club have a right to extend its their option the contract is already signed Stan. Don't be talking nonsense.
