Am I mad for hoping we put in a cheeky loan bid for Grealish?

Yes we are a football club not a brewery.
12 Jun 2025 16:20:15
Nope. need total reset let's have a plan a type of player to fit a, system and stick to it.
12 Jun 2025 16:47:10
Nah, not for me.
We've just signed a player much better suited to RA's system in Cunha.
Don't get me wrong, I think Grealish is quality, but he's the wrong type of player.

I’m not sure how well he’d fit into Amorim’s system and am glad that we didn’t drop 100 mil on him like City did (although given that we signed Sancho that same season and Antony the one after - maybe we should have), but having grown up watching Manchester United play in the nineties, in my head, Grealish is exactly the type of player I’d expect to see us sign. Well. The Villa version of him, at least.
If Rashford, Sancho, Antony, and Garnacho all leave, I can think of far worse players to replace them with.

As a person I have a lot of time for Grealish, seems a top guy and always makes time for the fans.
I hope he goes back to Villa and rediscovers his form, because that is where he belongs.

I actually think he fits the system because he operates best as a wide number 10. The problem is that he doesn’t have the right attitude.
At Villa he worked really hard. He was selfish on the ball, but put in effort all over the pitch. At City, he clearly worked hard to adapt to what Pep wanted, but hasn’t been arsed since the treble. Pep can’t trust him, and everything he does on the pitch seems laboured.

Goes down quicker than a whores draws.

Spot on grim. He is a really nice lad. Not had a happy time at city last 18 months. Whoever gets him is getting a really good player. Probably the wrong age profile for us now and too expensive. There is a lot more and great sides to him than the image often portrayed in the media.

Ken, I work with someone who's partner works for the City Group, and Grealish is a massive liability. The stories I have heard it is insane that someone could be as stupid as he is.
Steer clear, but I hope he goes to a Spurs or similar.
Agreed though, he is a half decent player, just thicker than poorly made custard.

Grealish is a good player, no doubt about that, he works really hard at he’s game and is a top person, does he’ll of a lot for charity, yes appears to like a beverage……we could do a lot worse than having him on loan.
So now it’s I work with someone who knows someone who actually don’t work or know him, but for same group…but heard stories so that makes it ok to then call him thick. The mind boggles!

Not for me. There are plenty of options out there that we do not need to be risking on Grealish.
Plus if we can bring in Mbuemo alongside Cunha we are covered with Mount/ Mainoo/ Fernandes/ Amad all able to deputise with potential for some of the youth players to get some minutes.
