Can't believe the amount of criticism Hoijlund gets
He is a 22 yr old kid who for thr last two years has been asked to carry the weight of a misfiring very poor teams attack all on his shoulders.
He has had virtually no service and every chance he has had has been one with immense pressure to take it on him. His confidence must be shot and apart from Ruud being manager has not had a top level striker to learn from

Despite all this he has never once given up trying to help the team u line some prima.

Nobody doubts his attitude, but he hasn’t shown enough ability to play for a top side. This is the club’s fault. The could have paid over £100m for Harry Kane, and kept DeGea. Instead, they spent money on Hojlund and Onana.

Whilst I agree that he is young and has a lot of potential for growth, as well as him not really being suited to how Amorim wants his strikers to play. He also has to take a fair amount of criticism for making absolutely no progress or showing any development for this entire season.

He hasn't improved one iota, and he keeps trying to do the same thing that doesn't suit his game despite him showing no progress.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I don't believe the coaches aren't working with him to try and improve him, tell him what he needs to be doing, how to improve etc.

Which means if they are telling and working with him and he isn't learning or adapting it's because he is choosing to ignore it or is unable to listen and implement the advice. Either way that is a troubling issue.

In a transition focused team I think Højlund has a lot of qualities that mean he'd do well. But he doesn't naturally have any of the skills needed to play as a striker in a possession based side.

That isn't his fault, he was purchased by a manager with a vastly different approach to the one he now has to work under. Yet if he is humble and at least averagely intelligent he should be able to improve those weaknesses and over time put in better performances. Yet that just hasn't happened, it'd be fascinating to be a fly on the wall and under why.

Agree Salford. Gyokeres was still playing for Coventry at the same age. He seems to have done alright.

Rasmus in own head thinks he is a superstar and he is the best, he got ego size of Buckingham palace…. Coaches working with him non stop, but not an ounce of improvement……. got not one attribute to make him a decent striker…….

When Ruud came he started to coach Rasmus and I def saw a slight improvement. It's a shame we could not get Ruud to coach him more.

I don't think Hoijlund has ever shown he is a big head. He works hard and if he had a better team around him and experienced strikers to learn off he would be a whole lot better.

I'm with you on that Salford. Seems like a decent lad. He will go on and do well.
