What a performance by PSG. stunning. They got rid of Messi, mbappe and neymar and are so much better for it. Well done to them!

Offloading the top player you channelled everything through makes you a better team, who knew freeing up other players could lead to progress.

Not the same for us.
They have ambitious owners. Bruno will get sold and we won’t replace him. You’d have to question what ambitions and plans we have in the long run if Bruno isn’t happy and wants to leave.

If the offer comes in for Bruno you have to accept it, our best player by far but his sale can generate the funds for us to rebuild across the pitch which we desperately need to do.
What the PSG team shows if you can put together a team of hungry young players who have the mentality to play as a team, then everything is possible.
If we sell Bruno, Garnacho, Rashford, Sancho and Hojlund then we should have enough funds to add a complete new forward line including Cunha, a decent CB and a right wing back.

What if the messiah cunha gets injured? Nothing like having too many good players in the team. I can't understand the obsession with selling your best player. Are you guys getting a share of that quoted 100m? He has carried the club for many years now.
01 Jun 2025 09:45:38
Not the same.
We’d replace Bruno with £20m Hudson-Odoi, free transfer Calvert-Lewin and then massively panic and overpay on some Portuguese kid, lining the Glazers’ pockets with whatever was left of the Bruno windfall.

Captain obvious, they've spent over 1 billion euros in the past 5 years ? who knew that success follows.
01 Jun 2025 11:43:26
Remember how we got rid of RVN and replaced him with Carrick. Despite fears that we wouldn't be able to score goals the following season, we ended up scoring more and more players got their names on the scoresheet.

My point was more that they’ve completely changed the culture of the club over the last 2 years, replacing overpaid primadonnas with hardworking, talented younger players and it’s paid off. A model for us to follow in that sense. The owners are completely different yes, but that premise shouldn’t be.

If you sell Bruno and Garna then who makes the passed for the strikers to score Buy the replacement first then sell if we sell first everyonr knows what amount you ha e to spend and yet again will charge over the odds knowing so and how desperate we will be to get in replacements.
01 Jun 2025 12:59:53
Angel we spent over half a billion in last 3 years and look where we are, who would have guessed.
01 Jun 2025 13:06:17
I don't think there is any obsession with selling bruno.
It up to him if he says he wants to go then we should sell.
If he says he wants to stay then I doubt an offer will be accepted.
The ball is in brunos court s it should be.
It won't be a shock if he decides to leave it won't be a shock if he stays. Win win situation either way imo.
He can't be sold against his will and imo it's unwise to keep player against their will. If he goes it's good choice and who wants to keep a player that doesn't want to be here?

German, they've got a serious manager and a serious structure. Makes a massive difference.
But the fawning over a club that has literally bought up every player going is incredible.
But they did employ a serious manager and that has made a massive difference.

In the 6 full PL seasons between Fergie's exit and Fernandes' arrival, the team averaged more goals and points than the 5 full PL seasons we've had with Fernandes pulling the strings.
That hardly supports the theory that selling Fernandes would be this massive, unsurvivable, mistake, does it?
We've just registered our worst-ever PL season - with Fernandes orchestrating things - and our general output has been appalling.
His own output, as talisman, has hardly been remarkable. Amad has a better average for goals and assists in the PL and only 0.03% worse across all comps. He missed 15 games through injury and played nearly half the time at RWB.
I like Fernandes as a player, but I'm just not having it that selling him would be so stupid. Each to their own opinion, but my glasses have rather an objective tint.
37/ 38yo Jamie Vardy and Tomas bloody Soucek each outscored Fernandes in the PL this season. Of Fernandes' 8 PL goals, 2 were free-kicks and 3 were penalties. Hojlund, Garnacho and Rashford have been shredded by plenty of us on here, but all three have scored more open-play PL goals than Fernandes' 3 - Zirkzee also got 3.
World-class player, but certainly not unsellable.

Salford, have we not just signed Cunha? A no.10 who potentially replaces Bruno or Garnacho.
If we sell Bruno, we need to be spending that money or a large chunk of it on a striker.

This is the exciting thing isn't it? So many pros and cons for letting players leave. Not one post so far wants Antony Sanco or Rashford back, and there's 3 players who when sold need replacing and we will have the funds to do it. So it makes the debate over Bruno all the more interesting. I think we should sell. Some of his qualities are not Man Utd captain material for me, his negative emotions and tendency to vent rather than become deter. ijed and put someone up in the air or pull off something to change the mood and tempo. I think we are overly reliant on him and makes us predictable and easy to play against. Having 3 or 4 players who create for themselves as well as gel well in a team attack would be a step forwards not backwards and £100m for a player with a zero asset value on the balance sheet transforms our summer in the same way a champions league place would have and more. That's the reality rather than the sentimentality.
