There is an interesting way to look at RA interview where he says we have to be brave and strong in summer. If the club don't back him, if they do what they did with Mourinho, then this guy may not wait for the pay off, he may resign after or before the end of the transfer window if we don't support him. Well done to him, he looks someone who has conviction.
It looked to be like he meant he won't bumble along like Jose and ETH did. Interesting to see how the club support him.

Agree9 Disagree0

Well it all depends on how one sees it red man. He could also realise that he may be out of his depth. He could see this as a good way out. Claim that the club is a mess, won't back him and leave.

You don't think the club is in a mess Angel? Same owners. 5th highest wage bill in europe, 2nd highest spend last 5 years, and look what we have to show for it. We have the greatest debt for any club without a new stadium, we can be proud of that. We won at debt.

13 May 2025 06:29:09
I agree Red Man. I think he’s put a message to INEOS saying, I’m your man, you picked me now you have to back me properly or I’ll go. If they don’t and he walks, they are again left with egg on their face. They’re already having the leadership questioned, this scenario would very embarrassing for them. I think he’s been clever here.

13 May 2025 06:30:29
DB it has been for years and years. But apparently these were the new owners to fix that. We actually have a footballing structure in place now, footballing people in place to run it.

I think RA is a very intelligent man. I don't think it's conviction, personally, i think its a man looking for a way out. And how could you blame after this campaign.

That is how you see it, but remind me what did you say about ETH last summer, and about Ole. Genuinely interested because I don’t generally keep tabs on what people say.

Amorim is one of the best young coaches in Europe, is extremely highly thought of. You can’t see conviction, I can, it’s there in front of you. He has stuck by his playing principles even when media, ex players and social media is telling him to change.

I also don’t think he is looking for a way out as you put it. He is taking a chance by challenging his employers but he looks to me like he is doing what Mourinho didn’t, not accepting the status quo of Glazernomics, not accepting third or fourth best players, and I suspect he wants rid of some key disrupters as well. Remember the string rumours one of the Glazers refused to let Martial go. He may well jack it in in certain circumstances, he looks a man of principle and that is why he should be manager. He will be far more sought after than any of our previous managers.

This summer and window is the watershed. I just wish the Qataris had bought the club and rid us of the Glazers for ever. Party time the day we get rid of them.

Red man, with Ole, I thought he was out of his depth, love him as a man, he seems extremely nice. Very happy to see him do a job at Besiktas but United was too big for him.

With ETH I could see what he was trying to do, technically a very good coach, I was as happy to see him given the time, though he actually played very good football at the start of the year but he had no CF and was on a hiding to nothing given the fact that his job was being put out to every tom, dick and harry in the summer. A complete lack of disrespect from the managing team.

I believe he has conviction but in this, I think he might be looking at the door slightly and I don't blame him. The last time we beat a team that is going to be in the premier league next season, it was against Fulham. I think ETH left with 2.2 points per game, RA is on 0.95.

This is a top class coach according to many on here, including yourself. i'm sure he is a good coach but maybe not the right man in this scenario. I don't know, but we will find out.

When's the last time a top flight manager resigned? No compensation. Maybe if by mutual consent.

13 May 2025 09:25:49
Spenno

Money isn’t everything, people resign roles on principle regardless of money.

13 May 2025 09:35:19
Ok Red, without Google, name the last Premier league manager who resigned of his own accord without holding out for £10m compensation.

You don’t bring a manager in to play a specific way then not bring in players to suit that style.

I would think with barrarda they would take note of what city did with pep, his first year was poor, they won the title a season or so before he took over

Seen half the squad wasn’t fit for his way and got rid of those who didn’t for players who could.

This season was always going to be a right off the day they got rid of ten hag after spending over 200 million on players in the summer for him.

Everyone needs to relax and let the guy have some time a proper pre season and see what the people above give him in the summer.

Why would you want to change the way you want to play to suit a squad that has been terrible playing 4 3 3, 4-2-3-1 even 4-2-2-2 under ralf.

Amorim said himself when he joined we are going to suffer now and be better for it later on.

We all would have taken a europa final spot when ten had was sacked. We didn’t win a game in it untill Amorim came in.

Prem form has been a disaster but it’s been coming for years.

Hopefully it’s the wake up call needed and they are as ruthless with the same bunch of players that have been crap for multiple managers as they were with the office staff and dinner staff.

Ineos first proper summer window.

I couldn’t really care if we lose both our last 2 games finishing 17th should humble a lot at the club.

13 May 2025 10:17:33
Curbishley maybe? But that was a long time ago!

13 May 2025 10:36:17
Jurgen Klopp.

RA has been giving clear messages all year. I think he was genuinely shocked at how poorly constructed the squad is. I mean we don't have a single forward of note. Only Amad and Bruno would count but they play a lot on the wing and CM. I think it's to his credit that he has persisted in the interests of best preparing the players for next season. But there's no doubt he needs a CM and at least two forwards - and that each of them needs to be quality players. While others criticize xG and other metrics I should point out that our base line performance last year was similar to this. We got lucky last minute goals last year that we didn't this year, but more importantly we are improving on all but results. Those generally do end up aligning.

redman

You talk crazy. He will be there until they tell him off you go son. He will get sacked and not good enough at this level.

13 May 2025 12:27:51
It’s also worrying when he said about the players don’t get angry when they lose

It’s like they just accept it, they don’t care they still get paid

The mentality of some of these players is shocking.

Like when shaw a few years ago come out and said they lack motivation because they can’t win anything

That alone should have been him out the door

Should never accept losing but it’s clear some don’t give a crap.

They are also fortunate that we haven’t started booing them again in games or brought out the banners.

14 May 2025 03:09:00
No one walks in this day and age and why would they… principles in 2025 are thing of the past and in football even more so…it’s not like normal life, get sacked because not good at your job, then have 10 clubs wanting to sign you for a job your no good at. only in football and politicians does that happen.
