If any team can throw this away it is us, but to go from being unbeaten all year in the EL to a 4-0 defeat would be some going, I think we will be ok but I’d like us to take it seriously and get an early goal to really kill the tie.

Sorry but. we cannot say we “should” win the competition now.
The second leg is not complete, we could get nervous if they score first but if we score first they may become despondent.
I really also don’t think we should assume Spurs will go through, the late goal and where they are playing the away leg means it isn’t a formality.
If it is a Spurs Utd final, it’s up in the air and nerves will play a part. Certainly it isn’t should win it.
Thing is next week we don’t have to come out pressing for goals, control the game, take our time. Get the first goal.
If we progress to the final let’s enjoy the night but it’s not done yet.

Good post redman.
They're was a day as a united supporter a 3 nil advantage meant tie over. But this current team have showed we can't take anything for granted.
I'd it's spurs in a final it's a real 50/ 50 toss of a coin.
It's great to have this opportunity to get to the final. When this manager took over we hadn't won any of our previous 12 European games.

We definitely need an early goal next week and ensure that Utd dictate the tempo. It was ashame we couldn't score another 1 or 2 last night and really take advantage of that extra man.

That Spurs game is by no means over, either. That late goal will have given Bodo a bit of renewed hope for the home game. Throw in the plastic pitch, it being a bit nippy and the possibility of Spurs doing a Spursy, and I'd say there's more of a risk of them slipping up than us.

Doesn't need to be 4-0 Bilbao in return leg. 3-0 will get ET and then anything can happen. Not beyond the realms if we lose a player to a red during the home game. But I like to think we will get at least 1 at home taking it out of their reach.

I know exactly what i said. if he did not adapt he would get sacked. he is adapting. We had 38 percent possession vs lyon at home. we are playing counter attacking football in a different type of formation in games that matter. nothing has changed.
