Manchester United is an entity like no other.
I've followed them for about 40 years so don't know any different, but if you don't support the club, you seem to have to despise them and find something to jump on.
Latest was last night. My digital TV packed in for the last 10 minutes so I missed both goals, so logged onto the Sky Sports homepage at full time. 'Manchested United scrape through with OFFSIDE goal' in a massive headline.
OK, so it did look marginally offside (not as clear cut as most have reported) . But seriously, if it was any other team in the world, a nice 'xxx through to next round' would have appeared.
All this makes it much more rewarding to support this team when it does go well, but we're having to choose our moments for the time being! Football runs in cycles and we had a nice long one.

It was a good bit offside in fairness spenno. I'd be fuming if it was the other way around.

Correct, angelred but how many have hone against us the past few seasons? that's the reason i am celebrating even more.

We lost the league because of Drogba being offside by 2 to 3 yards at d Trafford so you win some and you lose some but because it’s Utd it’s major headlines absolutely pathetic.

No mention of Bruno’s brilliant free kick?

Even today the headlines are about how United failed to sign two players in the winter window they'd been chasing, with no context of how or the circumstances.
