Suggest we swap out Obi-Martin with Rasmus for the next few games.
Give OM a chance to stake a claim, and allows RH some time away from the spotlight to learn the system with the U21.

I'd personally keep Zirkzee in the squad as he offers something different, albeit, I maintain he is a touch short on his decision making. I mentioned in a previous reply that didn't get posted, I feel he would benefit from some training on his decision making time.

If he can be a second quicker, there is an unplayable player in there. The EPL is just a second quicker than Italy, but having that second makes a huge difference.

We did this last week, it makes perfect sense to throw in a 17 year old, what could possibly go wrong?

29 Jan 2025 11:03:00
Maybe because he might, just might, be a generational talent and as RH is not performing there is very little to lose.

If it isn’t working then swap him out at half time.

Not a lot different to what we are doing already except he is just a young kid.

29 Jan 2025 12:17:23
not sure its a good time to bring a 17 year old in either - better coming into a winning confident team - still very undecided on the centre half we paid big money for, just a kid coming into a tough league not sure it was the right time for him either - he has nt really impressed which i m not really surprised about.

It is about getting Rasmus out of the spotlight more than it is about putting a player into a system he understands.
Worst case he misfires as per Rasmus and Zirkzee, then maybe it isn't the strikers at fault.

29 Jan 2025 12:36:27
Surely bring him off the bench in a home game for 20 mins first?

29 Jan 2025 12:44:42
If we do the same every game we will get the same outcomes every game.

Change is good, blooding the lad will help his development, even for 20 mins etc.
We are blunt upfront.

29 Jan 2025 14:02:32
It all depends on his character, Rashford was 18 when he made his debut and scored 2 goals, and then scored a few weeks later v City. Young players rarely let you down with effort and commitment, it's managing their time and expectations after their debut that is key. If he's good enough, he's old enough.

29 Jan 2025 15:30:01
Seen a few of the Academy matches, the kid is still very very raw, put him in now instead of Rasmus and it will backfire.

Much better to let him develop out of the spotlight, sometimes you have to be patient, hopefully he gets a few runouts towards the end of the season then maybe a place in the first team squad next year.

There are a number talented Academy players like Ibragimov, Biancheri, Kaba, the Fletcher brothers and Kukonki who is already on the fringes of the first team, and we are signing Heaven from Arsenal, hopefully a number of them make the grade to come through to the first team.

29 Jan 2025 16:15:34
If he was ready he’d been playing it’s that simple.

29 Jan 2025 16:36:57
Agreed DLIB. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

29 Jan 2025 17:06:12
Burren,

That’s where we differ, I’m seeing really good promise from Yoro, he’s had a couple of tricky games that he will learn from, I thought he was exceptional when he came on against Fulham, hopefully continues at that level but fans seem too quick to write players off these days.

29 Jan 2025 17:53:58
Thanks GDS2, I've maybe not seen as much of him as you but from what I've seen he looks quite light weight, he is a kid playing in a new country in a tough league so i'm trying not to be to harsh but i'm not convinced about him i'd rather we had gone for a more experinced player which isn't his fault of course -milenkovic at Forest has been unreal - hope you are right and i'm wrong about Yoro.

29 Jan 2025 20:38:01
I'd give the lad a chance, like some have said if your good enough your old enough. How will we know if he doesn't get a go.

30 Jan 2025 00:07:26
Danny, the point is, the management will know.

30 Jan 2025 09:06:39
Im with you, GDS2.

I've been impressed with Yoro and agree he has made some mistakes, but that is to be expected. He is young, lack experience and it's his first season in the EPL.

Unfortunately we do have fickle fans who call out the players far too easily at times.

30 Jan 2025 18:22:51
Unbelievable how fans are turning on Rasmus, I'm shocked what this fanbase has become. We really do deserve what we get at this stage.

30 Jan 2025 19:14:15
I really like yoro too.
18 as a cb in epl is tough. But personally I see very good attributes I can understand the purchase.
Rasmus is not a very gifted player technically in fact his tekkers are poor for this level. I would not sell him unless someone gave us a stupid fee of 50m ish.

31 Jan 2025 07:11:17
Every forward for 11 years has failed in this team, but this 17 year old that has never been in the 1st team squad might do it?.

31 Jan 2025 07:42:57
Time will of course tell, and Amorim and his team will be better positioned to make this call.
I've heard suggestions he is considering bringing him into the first team. Perhaps it will be as a sub for 20mins against the likes of FCSB in Europe, perhaps it will be to lead the line from the outset. Either way, I think it will be this season.
