Why I love this site - I can post an opinion, people can share their views and I can change my mind about things.
Thinking about the Garnacho situation, I think it is what it is now. Big clubs aren’t afraid to sell talents and we have a tendency to rate players much better than they are. I can definitely be guilty of this at times.
I don’t think Madrid, Barce, Pool, Chelsea, Bayern would be bothered by a sale like Garnacho. They would take a good fee and reinvest. I hope we get the reinvestment part right.

Another way to look at it is what clubs are linked with Garnacho?
Is it Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich? Would Liverpool, City or Arsenal seriously want him if he was available?
It seems the only clubs that are seriously interested in him are not the biggest clubs or the ones fighting it out regularly for the biggest honours.
You have Napoli who have won one league title in 30 years, and Chelsea who are scrapping with Nottingham Forest to get back into the UCL.
What does that tell us about how the wider football community rate Garnacho?
Yes he has potential, but unless he will realistically realise that potentially then it's just a fart in the wind.
He is still very raw and has a long way to go.
I mean we are absolutely abysmal right now, 13th in the EPL on merit.
Is Garnacho a starter ahead of Bruno and Amad? No.
I mean even Zirkzee has started more games than him in the past few weeks. If Rashford wasn't being bombed out he'd be ahead of Garnacho. Mount would most likely be as well if he was ever fit.
So Garnacho is the 3rd or 4th choice player for the 13th placed EPL team.
Yeah he has potential, but right now he isn't good enough to start regularly for mid-table EPL teams.

We are woefully short of attacking players. If we sell Garnacho who plays left wing we aren't exactly blessed with alternatives.

We don’t play with a left winger in this system, that’s the main issue!

I think he has the most goals + assists of any under 22 player in Europe's top 5 leagues. As awful as we have been, that is not so shabby.

Liverpool fan here and I would have taken Garnacho but his attitude seems to have taken a turn for the worse since the start of this season. I did like him last season since he always worked extremely hard for the team and I could see the effort, although his end product can be missing at times. But this season, it seems like he has gotten all the positive plaudits to to his head and I don't see the same hard work that he used to put in. Maybe a drop to a lower team would be good for him, to motivate and put that spark in him again.

A fee of £40+ million and I'd let him go. He's no worldie.
Better to use the funds for some wing backs because Utd are going to need to buy at least two, probably four.

I love him, but accept he has been well below his best. However, selling him feels like madness to me.

No player in this Utd era should be idolised, i have no idea how you can have any soft spots for any player in the past 11 years.
Martial FC? Unreal.

He's not that good though DB remember lol.

I have a soft sport for Mata. Loved him.
23 Jan 2025 16:12:27
Soft spot for his off field work because on it he was average as well. I had a bit of sympathy for Mata the player as he was constantly played out of position.
23 Jan 2025 22:09:57
Him and his agent are hawking him around regardless of potential he’s trying to get a move somewhere so sell him
No time for players that don’t want to play for us, go and be rotation at Chelsea instead.
23 Jan 2025 22:57:44
The club are pushing him out for under value because they are desperate. Now they are trying to make it look like he is doing it. I call BS.
23 Jan 2025 23:49:04
I hope they don't give up on him.
