With our issues in the last games, l can see Brighton running through our midfield again. I really think RA needs to look at the system, 3 at the back, but l think 3 central, 2 wing backs, with 2 up top. I think both Coller and Kirkzee deserve a start this time.

He is a manager with a system. It is flexible within it's structure, but he is not about to change his philosophy. He needs to persist and expose the players that cannot play in this system. The management team need to remove these expensive mistakes who are dragging on the clubs progress. They need to support their new manager with at least one signing that comes into the first team in Jan. We are short in midfield with players capable of playing, and have no special-ist wingback for his system.

Looking like they are hanging him out to dry in this window. Hopefully they are just doing things quietly.

Everymaych we play our midfield seems lightweight. Last match you had Bruno Ugarte Mainoo but still Southampton bossed the game and they are bottom of the league.

Dodgy has it correct in my view.

There’s no question Ugarte and Mainoo had a massive hangover from playing their socks off with 10 men a few days previous. We had to make a big adjustment but actually did quite well in the second half and deserved it against Southampton all things considered. Expect them both to be back to full strength with another few days rest making us much harder to play against today.

While it's not enjoyable to watch us struggle, it is a painful experience we need to go through to actually start moving forward.

We've had managers come in and try to change how we play, then they lose some games and the pressure builds and builds and then they crack and they change what they are doing and from that moment on they are on borrowed time.

It sends the message to the players that the manager didn't truly believe in his idea and his system. From that moment you've lost the full backing of the players. You've allowed them to move back into their comfort zone and stopped any chance of them growing and improving as players.

From that moment on all decisions become muddled, such as who should the club target in the transfer window? Do they keep trying to sign players to play the way the manager wanted to originally, but isn't currently playing that way. Or do you sign players to suit the way the team is playing right now?

Do you plan training around developing how you want the team to play or do you plan them around how you are going to get them to play in the meantime?

We need a manager who will stick to their guns, believe in what they are doing despite the results, someone who can inspire the players to buy into that idea. We need a club hierarchy that will back that manager and not pull the rug out from under him. Who'll accept that there are players who just aren't good enough and have the strength of character to move them on, even at a loss. Who'll allow the experts at the club to bring in players who'll suit that vision and have the right skillset to play the way the manager wants.

It's not a quick process, it's long and hard, we will have to accept poor performances and inconsistent results, not just this season but next season as well most likely.

What we cannot afford to do is to abandon another rebuild to start again just because this one is going through a tough patch.
