What a bloody performance and a performance generated by not playing a low block and counter game. so hats off to RA for the game plan. I felt like we went toe to toe and should have won.
But like RA, my worry and issue is their inability to do it on a consistent basis. For too long this club has had it easy. It was a great performance last night but let's see them do it against arsenal next week and beyond that. All it is, is bloody will over skill every time. The hunger and the desire. The players we have are both intelligent and skillful enough to do it. I don't buy into the line that they can't play this system or are unable. YES THEY CAN, they just have to want to do it.
Also, I'm hoping that last night also shows how important Bruno Fernandes to this team.
4 chances created, 1 assist, 87 touches, 12 passes into final third, 2 touches in opposition box, 100% dribble success (3/ 3), 8 ball recoveries, 11 duels won (only 2 lost) .

Good post angelred. RA's post-match interview on Sky was telling and he was bang on the money. Great game.

That Bruno Fernandez played well. He is just like the others though, must improve in the other games. He gives the ball away far far too much, he has to do better if he wants to stay.

This was a great performance but it means nothing if we fall back into old patterns. We've been a cup side for the last while with the ability to up our performances in one off games. If we can't do it against Bournemouth, Newcastle, Spurs, Wolves etc then what's the point?
Everyone did their job well, put the yards in and probably deserved 3 points all in. The officiating was abysmal. Liverpool stopping count attacks, no bookings, a possible handball, no review, the Garnacho offside in the last couple of minutes, he was about 3 yards onside.
We persevered though, played some nice football, we were aggressive. Nice to see both sets of supporters cheering when the 7 minutes went up. All in all a great game of football.
This should be the team going forward. If Amorim continues to make 4 or 5 changes each week, he needs his head wobbled.

I think it has been building up to that being his first choice, I don't have the stats but I would think the 11 that started yesterday are the ones that have played the most minutes so far under Amorim. I think Yoro for De Ligt is the only change I would make at the moment, or for Maguire and put De Ligt in the middle. We have to be careful to take yesterday as that we are suddenly really good, a number of them players have looked horrendous is other games, they have shown they can play like that in one off games previously and then we lose the next game and look terrible. Yesterday felt a bit different because we were the better team away at one of the top teams in the league which hasn't happened for a very long time, so hopefully the aftermath is also different.
We are never as bad as people make out when we lose and we certainly aren't as good as people make out when we don't, but there seems to be some positivity and fingers crossed we have hit the bottom and now the only way is up.

Definitely a far better game from the entire team - the frustration being obviously, where has this sort of performance been?
They have shown they can perform, this was a game Utd could, and probably should, have won - is it purely that they were playing a rival team and raised their game? Or can they do it again in the next game?
