Regardless of the result, the 1st half has shown some really promising signs. Really like the intensity in the tackle and been decent on the ball.

Should have won. Better team. Not a pen for me (we don't get them as it's too close) . Also Nunez a lucky boy, nasty shoulder to De Ligt's head, knew exactly what he was doing.

I couldn't believe var didn't get involved, he clearly looks at de ligt and deliberately smashes his shoulder into his face.

Exactly Wiggy. In rugby that's a straight red. I don't understand it. Anyway I still don't understand why Dalot got 2 yellows last season at Enfield for 1 show of dissent.
They seem to have a crackdown at anfield for opposition teams then different rules elsewhere.

Var oliver = utd get shafted. 2 absolute awful decisions. I'm sorry it's always against utd. other way round it's red and never given ever against Liverpool that handball. But. I'd taken 2-2 and that fight before game. something to actually feel good about, not had that in yonks.

Nunez did exact same thing to Evans previously. He jumps in with his shoulder. They need to clamp down on those challenges to the head.

Supasub it was a pen all day long.

05 Jan 2025 20:02:42
It was given as a pen yes madman. Why do you think oliver didn't give it? Maybe thought it was too close? It rules out others.

Thing is if all decisions went same way fair does. but they aren't. if that's a penalty then how was Newcastles goal not disallowed?

First off delighted the players actually seemed a team and fought win every challenge. Second that even though they went behind they still had the courage and desire to equalise. Third nice to see Martinez acknowledge what we have all known for a long time and that is that without desire and effort the team cannot prosper.

I cannot agree with those who say De Ligts handball wS not a penalty. His arm was well away from his side. It interfered with the trajectory of the ball and we would have been screaming for a penalty had a a Liverpool player done the same. Nor deliberate but a nailed on if unfortunate pen to concede.
I would not get carried away too. Much by the performance today though. Liverpool were well below par and yet still scored two and could have had another two quite easily. Also BBC pundits were raving about Dalot but he was facing. Trent Alexander Arnold Who defensively is not the best. Being a right footed player on the left flank means a right footed winger will always be a problem to Dalot who will not be in the best position to. Intercept or tackle without risking a penalty or dangerous free kick. Lastly the need for a top striker was shown again.

All that said it was a pleasure to see the team having a real go. Let's hope they continue in the same vein.

Funnily enough same game a year ago. Nunez jumps shoulder 1st into Evans. Then claps the referee. Gets yellow. Same game Dalot gets w yellows for q show of dissent. Michael Oliver the referee.

Nunez article

Nunez I think also did the same thing again to Evans at Old Trafford earlier in the season. How does he get away with it?

Madmax seeing as you don't seem to get involved with discussions on your own Liverpool page, what do you think?

The worst decision was Maguires yellow. That was a great tackle.

06 Jan 2025 13:03:25
Handball was a pen imo. Maguire table was fair too imo.
The nunez was very much deliberate.
I don't think there is an agenda against United.
Get some decisions don't get others that's life.
You could cry about refs all day.
