Maybe we should leave Rashford alone. Or just really support him in an effort to help him. Back to his best? Never judge a person til you have walked a mile in their shoes?

How much support does the guy need? Good performances is what he needs.

Fair enough, but why should one give a 27yo man a hall pass when the pressure's on and graft is just as important as talent?
All the apologists flapping on about how we 'must all give these players slack because their worlds are very different' - I'm yet to see real concession and humility from Rashford when it comes to someone far less fortunate so the continued sentiment of giving him more slack is nonsense.
If he can't be bothered to show respect, why should he be deserving of it?

Salford, at what point do we decide he doesn't merit a place in the team? I was one if his staunchest defenders, UA and I used to argue about him all the time. But now, I just don't see a way back. Yes he will have hot streaks, yes he will score a few goals, but for the most part he will likely continue to move around feeling hard done to.
I'm so disappointed in the direction his career has taken but it's time to move on.

How many of us have trudged into work, the weight of the world on our shoulders and given 100% to it. I will bet most if not all. When playing for our shirt that feeling should be even higher. There is no excuse for Rashfords lack of effort.
Let him go.
12 Dec 2024 08:42:40
Rashford has had more than enough opportunities. Time to move on.
12 Dec 2024 10:24:24
How do you move him on?
12 Dec 2024 11:06:26
Exactly that Patrick.
Personally I don’t think he fits in the new system. He needs to be playing as a left wing forward, and even then it’s not guaranteed that he’ll perform. But, he’s on £300,000 a week. Nobody is going to pay a transfer fee for him, and match that salary.
He’s one of a number of players we have on huge wages, that will be very difficult to get rid of.

I thought a while back that Rashfiord was following Wellbeck's path as a striker. Patently not true. Wellbeck is a grafter and humble with it. If only Rashford was blessed with those traits.
Wellbeck has found his home and I'm delighted for him. I only hope the same happens for Rashford sooner rather than later. He's clearly unhappy despite all the lifestyle trappings.

Wout Weghorst put more effort in during 3 months than Rashford has in last 30 months- for me that's the minimum requiremnt -if he can't be arsed then why should we support him ? I support the club- although its hard to do at the moment -not one player.
12 Dec 2024 15:08:40
How to move him on? Don't pick him for starters and make it very clear to the whole universe that the reason he isn't playing is because of lack of effort and that his time at Utd is over.
Then tell his agent to find another club for him.
It's a good start.

That’s a fantastic approach to getting rid of a player on £300,000.
United - Rashford is dropped because he’s arrogant and lazy. We want him out of the club asap. Shall we start the bidding at £50 million?
Other clubs - shut up and take our money already!

Danny, if it's obvious to us that Rashford can't be bothered then I'm sure it hasn't escaped the notice of elite level scouts and coaches (except ETH) .
The reason they will buy him is because they think that they can get a tune out of him when others can't or that the walk ball approach fits more with their league (ligue 1 maybe? ), I mean Rashford and PSG is an obvious match right?
What ever happens it sends a clear message that maximum effort is a bare minimum for anyone playing under Anorim. It might be an expensive message but in the long run might prove to be good value.
12 Dec 2024 17:24:50
He's very hard to watch now.
All we are asking for is 100% effort over 90 minutes it's not much to ask for.
12 Dec 2024 23:13:52
It's so easy to judge people without knowing what's really going on in their heads/ lives.
I understand that people want to see more effort etc from him (the money he earns is a red herring in my opinion) . so do I. but criticising him all the time cannot be anything but counter productive. If he has to leave so be it but maybe we should be a little more compassionate and understanding and realise things are not always what they seem.
