Eds,
Who are the viable option if any, to replace Ashworth?
What are your thoughts on this, as it seems rather farcical.
Thanks.
{Ed077's Note - Right now, I don't know if there are so many "viable" options but I am still stuck on Rangnick ?

Maybe Vivell, not sure if he’s still at Utd or how long his short term contract was.

The devils greatest trick was convincing the world they didn't exist. There is still a glazer with a seat on the footballing board. Not to mention that they still own the majority of the club.
Would Rangnick really be an option?

Am I right in thinking SJR can up his stake in United at the end of this month? I thought when it was all being sorted by end of December he could or would be? Sadly Peter, I think you are right about the Glazers, until we are rid of them completely there is a cloud over the club still.
I must admit, my confidence in SJR is not what it was when he came in but still early and turning the internal mess around within the club is some task. The Ashworth situation is interesting, it does seem embarrassing he's already gone after the effort to get him, but on the flip side, a decisive decision has been made which is good and what is needed within the club. I wonder if the Lisbon fella who is reported to be on the way to City will be approached if a deal isn't done yet? That would certainly show backing to the manager if that were the case.

Ed077,
Would RR be keen on a return to Utd?
He would be a good appointment.
{Ed077's Note - I don't know, but if I was him, I would give the people the bird if they offered it

In my opinion it’s a very worrying time to be a Utd fan. Rather than bringing some stability to the Club, SJR and his consortium have made some unbelievably bad decisions that have cost the Club millions. Making people redundant and increasing ticket prices, whilst morally repugnant is a drop in the ocean in comparison to compensation paid for EtH, Ashworth and Amorim.
The Club is haemorrhaging money on the likes of Rashford, Casemiro, Mount and you can probably add Bruno into the equation, all earning well north of £250k per week whilst giving absolutely nothing in return. that's probably well over £1m a month going out of the Club on underperforming players. If you add Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Eriksen that figure gets closer to £2m a month all on players making almost zero contribution to the team.
If SRJ thinks Ashworth’s the problem that’s his prerogative but at some point somebody MUST hold these players accountable otherwise we can expect more of the same.
Most of our players are bang average but with the egos and salaries of superstars, until that changes SJR can sack as many people he wants and it won’t make a blind bit of difference.

Dlib
Our wage bill which keeps getting repeated for some reason is a red herring and complete bs. If you go do some research our wage bill is one of the lowest comparative to topline revenue of any of the major European clubs. Its our operating cost that is very high with our cost of servicing the debt that is a an issue.
I highly recommend people look up wages of top 10 European clubs and compare that as a percentage of their annual income. you will be surprised. This constant berating of players who are on a wage that the market sets gets old.
Guys like rash and Bruno will get paid that wage where ever they go, its not really a big deal for the top tier clubs in Europe and our fan base loves digging at players. Still remember Rooney getting so much flack. We would be very lucky if we ever got a player anywhere near Rooney's talent again.
Don't get this clamoring of getting rid of Bruno and Rash. Its not like the rest are great and these two are the weak links. Plenty ahead of those two to go IMO. Then again I was one of the lone voices that thought selling mc was a mistake. He is doing terrible :)
Its a cycle we tend to repeat by focusing on one player and blaming him for our shortcomings and when he is gone we focus on another one. Its a team game.
