So little about last night's match?
Rasmus had a good one. 2 goals plus laying one on a plate for Garnacho that even he couldn't miss. Mazraoui again excellent. Great play leading to Rasmus's fine first goal. We should have scored at least 2 or 3 more in the second half. Dalot made two incredibly bad passes in a matter of minutes. The first was underhit when he had the opportunity to put Amad away, and the second crossfield ball into the middle was straight to a Bode player which resulted in us being put under pressure.
I felt much more confident when Shaw came in. Despite his profligacy in front of goal at least Garnacho put in a bit of a defensive stint. Malacia looked okay but was skinned for their second, while Martinez overcommitted upfield. Will he ever reproduce the form that endeared us to him in his first season? Mount had some nice flicks. Bruno was unspectacular but played his part switching the angle of attack. His shooting is still way off where it needs to be.
Apparently the 6000 Bode fans represented 11% of the town's total;l population.

I'm also surprised at the lack of posts, I was waiting to see if anyone did actually say anything.
On another night we would have won 6-2 but we continue to miss clear chances. I liked the fluidity I. The second half, we tied them in knots and Rashford and Garnacho should have scored when through.
I love Rasmus, 100% effort, huge potential, and the occasional class goal, I would start him regularly.
Mount looked lively and I hope he gets a run too, Garnacho needs to improve his finishing but never stops running, Ugarte already looks very solid and tidy, and Amad looked great again when he came on. The back 3 needs work but that will happen when he settles on a first choice 3.
Rashford continues to frustrate, De Ligt looks both classy and slow (! ), and I'm not convinced Bruno is enjoying the new system, but hey, it's a new system.
I'm enjoying the journey so far.

Rasmus is the real deal, been shocking the criticism of him really. Put players around hin that look to find him and see how he does. His finishing percentage is right up there. Of course he needs to work and learn to get in good positions to receive the ball, but players also need to play to find him. Amorim could be a dream coach for him.

Totally agree about Rasmus, have said before that he is starved of proper service and needs to be used much better. Was watching M. O. T. D. last Saturday and the City match was on, Haaland had about 6 goal attempts from balls played to him, in the box, by his teammates. I thought at the time it was probably more opportunities than Rasmus has had all season!
I have no doubt whatsoever that if he is used properly, he is capable of being a top goal scorer. I fully expect our style of attacking play, under Rubin, to change and be more striker orientated. Look at what he has done with Gyokeres.
Last season Rasmus had the second highest conversion rate of goals to chances, only behind Haaland, of all premiership strikers. The answer is not going out and spending zillions more on new strikers but using what we have properly.
I thought Mount looked decent and can see him, subject to fitness, becoming an important part of the team, his game is well suited to the style we will be implementing. Agree that Ugarte is looking more and more settled.
Like most, am struggling to see a future for Marcus and Bruno in the system but casualties are inevitable.

Yeah it’s interesting how a lot of Rasmus criticism has started to wane already. Zero service will result in poor performance. Weghorst, whilst not prolific, suffered the same fate.
Now we have started to cross the ball a little more his skill set comes to the fore.
Bruno will be fine. I really think he will begin to shine as the pressure to perform is taken from him.
Shaw, as much as I like him, on the other hand is on a downward trend. Not for the long term and needs to be replaced as a succession plan.

Rasmus inside the box if there is decent service on quick transitions will get his goals. I think his link up play needs improving and he takes too long to get rid off the ball. His movement playing against teams sitting in a low block also needs improving and he needs to come out short and drag the cb's out if you ever watch what he does instead of sitting between two and wrestling them.
I like Bruno playing slightly deeper which Portugal do as well. he seems more controlled. Really like Amad and he will improve the most from all our wingers imo.
Antony and either rash or garna will get sold in the summer to fund some of the changes imo. I hear we are close to getting Davies if things progress as expected.

On another night Onana gets sent off for clearly handling the ball! AND glimt would have crushed you then. Amorim kn.

Ah, we have a new troll. What is Math short for? I'm guessing Idiot. The ref saw nothing wrong, VAR saw nothing wrong, on another night we would have scored 6. Run along.

Yes Ajh we will miss ed002 for his knowledge and his ability to identify and call out the trolls. He was deadly at it He was so accurate with his assessments. May he rest in peace.

Rasmus does have too many touches and Amorim has called this out. In fact it's not the first time he's been constructive with some public criticism which I quite like, even if it seems to crumble some players. There's a way to do it, ie not the Mourinho way.
I'd be surprised if Garnacho left anytime soon. Rashford more likely, but it's an difficult one. He needs to capture that incredible form of 2 years ago in order for someone to want to take a punt on those wages, and if he recaptures it, we probably want to keep don't we?

Spenno
Either rash or Garna if they go will go on and have really good careers. They just don't suit this system where you want to keep the ball and play lots of link up play. The last thing on their minds is crossing the ball or finding the open man. Once they see open space they are like horses with blinders on. Garna is worst at it than rash and very wasteful. Amad is always looking for the pass and quite clever why I think he will do well.
Antony is never going to make it. Better suited for other leagues. His crossing is awful too even with his left foot and either way too low or way too high and always falling backwards when he crosses.

Garnacho will be one of the most played/ used players for the remainder of this season and for the whole of next season assuming he is fit and available.
A very coachable player talanted and determined.

I think Rashford has a mebtal issue, I see him struggling wherever he goes. I defended him again and again, but I'm done.

I love Rashford, despite the pelters he gets on here, but it’s certainly time to move on and try a new environment. He just looks stale now and it’s time we cashed in. If the new manager cannot get him motivated, he’ll be gone in the summer. He’d have a blast at a decent Italian or Spanish side.
