I wish Ruud had stayed purely to help the attackers. His input would surely have borne fruit long term.

Why would the new manager want to have someone in his team that has eyes on the manager role, someone who at a defeat or two would hear calls of his name? Keeping Ruud would have been an emotional decision, as it is he has shown he knows what he wants and made a strong decision. Quite like that he felt strong enough to do that. Wish Ruud well, but it was the right choice.

As much as I loved Ruud as a player, he would have been a distraction and a reminder of what came before.
The moment things get tough under Amorim there will be whispers and players wondering if it would be better under Ruud.
We are better off without that sort of ticking time bomb.
I wish Ruud all the best with the rest of his career in football, and you never know our paths may cross again.

If Amorim is the real deal then having Ruud on board would not have been a problem.

Salford, if Amorim is bringing this own team with him, what role would RVN play? Amorim is entitled to advisors and helpers whom he knows and who know his style, and maybe his language too. Why complicate the issue? The fact is that once ETH was fired there were only 2 options for RVN, interim coach leading to permanent or interim leading to an exit. Besides which can you honestly say RVN's presence next to ETH actually provided United with a benefit? Did his work with the strikers yield any results?
The long and short of it is that RVN deserves a more prominent role somewhere than a second rate job on United's coaching staff.

Amorin's strikers coach if he has one helped shape a Coventry forward into the hottest striker in Europe atm. We'll be fine.

I wish people would stop calling Amorim - Amorin.

If ruud is the ref deal he wouldn't want to be a bit part to Amorim.
Best to go now.

Unruly - Coventry coached Gyokores into a very good forward before he left. He was signed for £1.5m and ended up with 21 goals and 12 assists in his final season before joining Sporting. I'm not trying to play down Amorims coaches, but Mark Robins and the Coventry coaches did a great job with Gyokores, he was being looked at by a lot of Premier League Clubs before leaving for Portugal.

I understand about the new manager having his own team but Ruud was one of the best finishers we have had. Who would I rather learn from. someone who has actually done what I need to do and can communicate that to me or learn from someone who has no top level game playing in that position.
Experience is a commodity that you should use to the max.

Salford. You simply don't know what went on behind the scenes. What was Ruud's role under ETH? Assistant Manager? Why would you think he would have been interested in a demotion to coach the strikers, who, in any event, aren't separate entities but players who need to be coached to operate within the framework of Amorim's team, not ETH's.
I'm sure he would have liked the head coach's job, but the club has picked someone else. It's sad, perhaps, but he had to go.

Kurtis
His agent said they had 8 offers from pl teams and more money but advised him to move to sporting. Brighton sold him to Coventry for peanuts.
