If Amorim does come in what happens to RVN and the rest of the coaches? Surely they have to go also, can't be hamstringing a new manager by forcing him to work with people who aren't part of his group.

Norn_84,
I'd expect them to go if Amorin is appointed.

Feel sorry for rvn but he would have to leave.

Fair bit of INEOS bashing going on in the pressers regarding their handling of a few issues within the club.
Going to be an interesting few weeks. Strap in!

What was the point in bringing him in then? If they didn't back ETH and a new person would want their own staff.

I have family who work in professional sports, once the ego has mended the paid out contract really does fill that void. Plus RVN has been back in the shop window.

RvN came to be ETH No 2. He had plenty of opportunities elsewhere and will do so again.
If He does a good job at them his name is such that he will get a shot at a big club before long.
Ruud will be fine.
{Ed025's Note - my advise to Manchester United...avoid anyone Dutch..

The down side to all of this news is that we now have to ship out a few of the ETH signings that are not good enough as well as the ageing wood.
So this really will be a rebuild period that we have to prepare for. I don’t think anyone ever had a problem with that as long as we saw progress which most will agree was not happening.
I just look forward to a team that we can identify with again.

Maybe Amorim will want to keep a coach who has experience of United and can guide him in all the issues the club have faced.
Maybe one of Amorim's assistants will see this as an opportunity to begin their own managerial career, who knows.
What this does say is that for Amorim to be thinking about the job this early in the season, he must look at the currently assembled team and think he can get them playing his way quite quickly as United aren't going to be able to offer him any significant funds till the summer.

That's if the reports re Amorim are true and the press isn't simply making hay in the world of clickbait. Time will tell.

Tbf fizz. Ornstein isn’t a clickbait merchant, he’s highly respected and reliable so I say we can take it that something is happening.

Fair point Norn.

I do feel a little sorry for RvN, along with the other coaches currently at the club as it's highly likely they will be out of a job if Amorim joins. Or at least when the new manager joins whoever that is and whenever that happens.
However, them leaving is probably for the best. A clean break and no lingering reminders of EtH's set up is probably best for the squad and the new manager. While the new manager, especially if it is a younger less experienced manager, will need to have his own men around him to support him in the step up to a massive club. If we want Amorim to be a success he needs to have those coaches with him who have helped make him the success he has been at Sporting.
We need a unified vision and plan moving forward. We don't want or need that to be complicated by coaches clinging on to previous ideas or not entirely bought in to the new ones.
We've seen this season that the teams performances have actually gotten worse when EtH replaced his coaching set up with new people, many of which he hadn't worked with before. Maybe it's a coincidence, or maybe it just further muddied the water.
As for RvN and the others, they will be well recompensed for the remaining time on their contracts. While RvN at least was unemployed when he took the position having already left PSV. If he gets a few games or more to put himself in the shop window then his short stint back with us may well have provided him the leg up to his next job.
Getting handsomely paid and the opportunity to put himself out there for other jobs is something most people would be very grateful for. So I doubt he'll have many complaints.
