I watched a few games over the weekend and I didn't enjoy any of them, including utd. I think it's finally happened, my long term relationship with football is ending.

I enjoyed our game, at least the second half when we played some nice football against a poor defense.
For me, watching City, is a chore when they're playing inferior opposition. They are relentless. It's the same pattern again and again, and their superior ball handling abilities and positioning allow them to trap their opponents in their own half. It's admirable but it's hardly exciting to anyone who doesn't support them. It's just dogged defense for virtually 90 minutes. Yawn. All you hope for is that the opposition can somehow hold out which they can rarely do.
I think it's going to be interesting to watch what happens to the EPL in the future. My feeling is that it's peaked, witnessed by a general decline in the value of transfer activity. With all that's going on in the world, it's getting harder to put football at the top of ones list of important things, especially when the owners of these clubs are generally so unsavory. I'm definitely watching fewer games overall.

I think it's oversaturation shaw. It's too much now. Every ex footballer with a podcast, ex refs reviews, endless pundits. The same discussions again and again. And I always preferred football where wingers/ full backs ran and took on players. It's happening less now, probably because they will be crucified if it doesn't come off. Anyway, football is more popular than ever, so it's just the opinion of this old fella.

I love watching city and love the way they play Shaw.
Fantastic technical ability and patterns and they all can manipulate the ball and the space so well that it's hard for the opposition to get on the ball.
Their work rate and ability to regain possession and force the opposition into turning the ball over again is second to none. If that bores you then fine but ones mans thrash is another man's gold
I bet you liked watching united dominate for 20 years. But guess what city fans thought we were boring then as did every other neutral.
Banjoe I take your point and agree with the over saturated state of the market. I don't watch much if any of the pre and post match stuff and don't follow any football on any of the social media channels as most of it is pure nonsense imo.
Even post match now is mainly about refs decisions which infuriates me.
Football fans are unique and more tribal than in practically any other sport. Fans are incapable of sitting alongside opposition without wanting to punch them. It's pathetic.
{Ed025's Note - im with Shaw Ken, passing for the sake of it bores me to tears mate, i thought the same about Barcelona actually, United in their pomp played with cut and trust and that was more attractive to me..

I really like and admire it Billy. As I said one man's thrash is another man's gold.
I played to a decent level but their tecch ability and ball manipulation is off the charts imo.
I'd rather watch that style than United in their pomp.

I admire City but I don't love watching them. Klopps Liverpool on the other hand were just brilliant fun. Amd as much as it pains me to say they were the best team to watch in the last decade in the EPL. I also really like the guy, it should not be like this as a United fan.
I promise you this though, once I have invented the time machine and bought United before the Glazers get a hold of it, Klopp is replacing Fergie.

Hell no i'd never watch city compared to the way united used to play. Ken your deluded to think citys way is more attractive. They bunch of cheaters and boring as anything to watch.

Im with oakboark as well liverpoola style was way better to wqtch then the way city play.
Klopps a way better manager then that sacrcastic looking Guardiola.
Everytime he does his presentations he comes across so rude and arrogant and extremely sarcastic!
He thinks he's the best ever but he ain't even in the top 5 coaches of all time.
Recently he waas saying Fergies is the best ever and even then he was saying it in a very sarcastic manner.
I can't stand him!

Watching City is like death by a thousand cuts. Pep maybe the hest manager around, but his brand of football doesn't really get you off your seat.
On the plus side I do spend more time watching my local NPL West team since United's declined. Football is rubbish but very entertaining to watch.

City bore me to tears, the whole thing is soulless and the passing teams to death is boring, I don’t enjoy watching the way they play. Good games of football are between 2 good teams both going at each other not one keeping the ball and not letting the other team have a touch, just isn’t for me and it annoys me that we try and play this boring possession game at times too. Everyone obsessed with passing out from the back, defenders passing goal kicks backwards to the goalkeeper, just all bores me.
I thought the same about Barcelona as well Ed25, I’m looking forward to Pep going as I think it will open up the league a bit and the top teams will have some good games and be challenging each other properly.
{Ed025's Note - absolutely GDS, its the same with the national sides as well who bore us to tears with passing to death when our strong suit is high tempo full in your face football, give me Fergie/Klopp style football that gets you off your seat any day mate..
