The bean counters are at work trying their hardest to meet the PSR rules. I don't doubt they are necessary in some form or other, but if a club is on a sustainable path, which I believe United now is, why should they be prevented from spending. Are there other motives?

As in what? It’s just the rules that the clubs all agreed to.

Yeah let all athletes take performance enhancing drugs too.
In fact let's do away with all the rules and let everyone do what they want.

A simple equation really. We overpaid for players, so we are carrying high book values even for players coming into their last year or 2.

We pay crazy wages because we have high revenue, so the players negotiate their share of our high revenue. But then when we want to sell, no other clubs want to pay our players those exorbitant wages.

Even a Lindelof on something 150 per week is too much for many clubs.

It will take time to undo the mistakes if the past. But we are moving jn the right direction.

I don't know if Shaw was talking about today's stories relating to employees having their pack lunches taken away from them? Apparently SJR has put an end to staff being given sandwiches and a cereal bar. As ridiculous as that sounds.

Not ridiculous at all. A lot were being wasted. They have other options for food offered. As much waste as possible needs to be eliminated from all areas top to bottom. Anybody saying why cancel lunches while paying players huge wages need to understand they are different areas of the business and don't compare.

A thousand small holes will sink your ship just as quickly as one big one.

Are there bigger issues than food waste at the club? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be addressed and fixed.

Sometimes the bigger problems cannot be fixed right away, they take time. But only a fool would sit on their laurels twiddling their thumbs waiting to fix a bigger issue while smaller ones could be sorted immediately.

Jnited were one of the big proponents of this. We could generate huge money, it was in our interest to limit the spending of others. It should have been a system that worked heavily to our advantage
, we just didn't expect to blow a billion on dross and hadn't forseen that clubs would use their academy's to bankroll their spending.

Now United are paying the price for a decade of incompetence, we can't spend what we need until we have accounted for the decade of incompetence.

It was obviously nonsense, there are not many.
