Eth confirming Maguire, lindelof, awb and shaw all doubts for Saturday. ffs seasons not even started and they're dropping like flies ? seriously though Luke shaw, what the heck. Hasn't played since February got fit for England and now isn't fit for us. Talented maybe but he's unreliable as hell. Needs gone next year if we can.

If Martinez is fit I can’t see him being played more than a half. Can’t risk him, if he’s out any time this season we are in trouble. Wrap in cotton wool when necessary.

So if Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Yoro, Malacia and AWB aren't fit, Dalot and Licha haven't done any preseason, who does that leave, Jonny Evans and the academy kids, should make things interesting.

FIFA mandate all players must have rest eriod, Shaw and all the players involved in summer tournaments were going to be late back and couldn't turn up at the ground earlier.
Obviously, getting rid of some of these pointless international breaks when they play friendlies would help. But it might affect FIFAs bottom line, not increasing the amount of European games would also have been sensible.
At some point, this will come down to scientists who will quite easily be able to prove that the current schedule is detrimental to player ŵelfsre, because playing so often. Isn't conducive to th best long term interest of players.
