I would love to see us bid for Amadou Onana. Everton looks prepared to sell. He has a lot of positive attributes: strong defensive ability, can tackle and intercept, comfortable on the ball, can receive and turn and pick out passes, aerial presence at 6'5" and just 22. He performed well for Belgium at the Euros. I like Ugarte, but I like Onana even more.

Buying a player on the back of a decent international tournament is fraught with danger.

I haven’t been too impressed by him either. Doesn’t read the game well enough to be a top class dm, and not fast enough on the ball to be a number 8.
Think Ugarte would be a much better fit with Manioo.

Did Belgium turn up at the Euros? They were collectively dreadful.

I think he is a really good player and has the size, speed, strength and technical ability to play as a 6. Does a lot of the dirty work for a poor everton and protects the back 4. Still very young and I can see him going to a top team. Belgium are not what they were 3/ 4 years ago, aging and Lukaku needs 15 chances to score a goal:) Roberto Martinez who i think is an awful coach did to them what he will do Portugal shortly, underachived.
