Think guehi would be a good option for us. if the braithwaite deal drags and the price is too rich for us then I'd definitely seriously consider him. Very solid.

The reports on what Everton value Braithwaite at are ridiculous. He’s had one season in the prem for a struggling side and they want over £70m for him.

It’s all reports so could be inaccurate.

United of the past would spend all summer putting in low ball offers to then happily hand over £80m for him on transfer deadline day, I’m hoping the “new” United have wised up and walk away quickly, like Liverpool and city do when the price is too high.

Can’t afford to spend the entire transfer budget on one player. Must be better value out there somewhere.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United know that Everton needs funds within the next two weeks and will make an improved offer.}

Are there any other clubs preparing offers for Braithwaite ed002? Or is it a case of United and Everton needing to agree a fee?

Am I right in presuming that he’s a first choice option for United and the club will move onto other options if Everton want more than United are willing to pay?

{Ed002's Note - Jarrad Branthwaite (CB) Everton want a new contract but Spurs, Manchester United and Newcastle have an interest. Ancelotti has spoken to Solari about him and scouts were sent to watch him against Newcastle, but Solari is not convinced that English players settle well on the continent. Manchester United will likely need a complete rebuild at CB with departures in the summer and so he will likely be a leading option. Spurs have a need for a CB. Newcastle has a compelling need to add one or two younger CBs. A wildcard would be Manchester City.

Manchester United have a number of other options including Inacio and Tobido.}

Bid of £50m + add ons in.?
I can see Braithwaite and Todibo.

Just glad that United seem to be in a hurry to get business done and not have their pants taken down; plus names mentioned by Ed002 in post above and previous all seem really good players.

17 Jun 2024 17:19:59
Who is this Braithwaite chap people keep linking us to? Is he as good as the lad from Everton?

{Ed025's Note - Jarrad Branthwaite is at Everton Brendan and is the best young CB in Europe mate, we need the money badly so you might just have our pants down and get him for around £60m, believe me hes worth more..

17 Jun 2024 18:12:12
That might go over a few heads Brendan lol.

17 Jun 2024 18:41:52
If another team buys Onana first won't that mean Everton can hold out for a larger amount for Braithwaite?

17 Jun 2024 20:09:18
Thankfully he put in a pish poor performance for Belgium today. Keep it up lad, you keep those buyers reluctant.

17 Jun 2024 20:47:08
Tim99, I reluctantly watched that dross which is the national team.
With Guehi to be honest he is a bit rash in the challenge for my liking.
There was also commentary about a knee injury, which I assume had him out for a while or is a recurring issue.

17 Jun 2024 21:19:46
Marc Guehi would be a good signing, and I can see him being the England player who gets a big move this summer on the back of a good tournament.

Supposedly Palace are open to selling him due to his contract situation.

However, ever good display with England will further push his price up.

17 Jun 2024 21:36:52
Agreed Wallace and of those players will improve us greatly. If we can get 2 in that would be fantastic.

17 Jun 2024 21:17:40
Salford, due to the amortisation of Onana's 33m transfer fee Everton will need to sell Onana for 60m+ up front to ensure they have the 40m clear in their accounts to avoid being in breach of PSR by the 30th of June.

While they won't want to lose Branthwaite, he is probably the one they will have to cut loose to avoid another points deduction.

{Ed002's Note - Everton will lose a couple of players this week but have the bandwidth to avoid shark type approaches.}

Good Morning Ed002

I hope you are enjoying the euros. Speaking of our CB's targets who do you personally rate the highest out of the group you have mentioned and is the Branthwaite reported bid too low in your opinion. You have mentioned how we have overpaid many times in the past and is this being opportunistic or about right.

{Ed002's Note - Inacio stands out.}

18 Jun 2024 18:44:05
Brendan,

Very good, I think we are going to have to get used to it, people below your post are still calling him Branthwaite as well!

18 Jun 2024 22:11:28
I like Branthwaite, Guehi too.
If we replace Maguire, Varane and Lindelof with them it would be excellent business.

{Ed025's Note - if you replaced them 3 with Curly, Larry and Mo it would be an upgrade though UR.. :)
