Midfield of Casemiro, FDJ and Bruno would be epic.
I don't buy that our squad is as bad as people think, I belive the issue is that the players don't complement each others skill sets.
Those 2 mfs would lift us by miles and be the difference between competing for top 4 or mid table obscurity. I know we could do with a rb, cb, widen forward and striker, but I think those two alone would be game changers.
That said, one is a pipe dream and the other at the end of his career, but if we could get both I'd take them in a heartbeat.

And who is going to score the goals? Just a small matter of putting the ball in the back of the net.
Last 4 matches including the last 2 preseason matches, we've scored 2 goals and one was an own goal.
If you believe we can compete or be near top four with our defence and attack, then I think you're going to be disappointed. There's also the matter of DDG, but that's another story!

I think the casemero links are as a replacement for de jong and he will most likely play along Fred if we get him

AAA, I agree to some extent, ut I think the manager needs to work out a way to play with the players he has.
This team, even with those players, won't be able to play as a well oiled pressing machine, and we won't be able to have quite so high a back line, but if we keep the disgruntled goat, we have enough up front to get by, and our defence isn't that bad, it just can't play the high line and our keeper most definitely can't sweep. But ETH needs to cut his cloth accordingly and make this team work.

RedD, I love the enthusiasm but we will still have the mentally weak core group of players who’ve downed tools and crumbled under pressure. Varane and Ronaldo have been added to the squad and we’re still crap. Ten Hag needs 3 windows to get this squad sorted. Clearing out the rubbish is the most important part of this rebuild.
While we’ve got the likes of Shaw, Maguire and Rashford, we won’t be competing for CL spots in my opinion.

I completely disagree 2toms.
Shaw was being touted as the best left back in England at one point. Rashford was ripping it up for a while, slab head isn't a bad central defender. Those guys are shot of confidence and being asked to play roles in a system that they aren't good enough for, they can still be good players, just not doing what's asked of them.
We can't just buy 11 new players, so with a few additions the manager needs to find a way to make it work. It will not necessarily be the system he ideally wants, but some kind of hybrid system that these players can work with. That's his job, that's what he's paid for!
Then over the years he can move on more players and bring in those that allow him to transform the team into exactly what he wants.

Maguire’s awful. Touting Shaw as Englands best left back means nothing when he puts in poor performances for us. Rashford ambles around the pitch completely disinterested most games. They have had countless opportunities to prove their doubters wrong. How can you say they are being asked to play in a system that doesn’t suit them? Maguire is being asked to defend and he’s been crap at it. Rashford to create and score goals, he struggles to do that.
They are being asked to represent Manchester United, and they struggle to do that. Lack of confidence or not, they have failed to make the grade and need to be replaced with better players. Obviously not in one window, but over 2-3 windows.

Striker is the most important Incoming. We simply don't score enough goals. 50 odd goals last year and 18 came from Ronaldo. That's relegation standard.

Maguire is awful. Period! If you want a coin tosser, someone to walk around waving his arms or looking totally confused for 90 minutes then he is your man.
If you want a leader who will tear slack players a new a**e and bleed for the club then he may as well sit at home and be just as effective. How is he getting a game? Must have pictures of people in compromising poses.
Get him off the park and get a people leader in the middle of the pitch and that alone will make a difference.
Nobody is accountable in this team other than the manager and that is totally wrong.
