Really good player. But highly dubious of why any player of this pedigree would want this switch. No-one seems up for it so far and the only player of quality we have wants out.

50-70m on the purchase a 400k a week 5 year contract for a 30 year old is a terrible decision we've just let matic and mata go at 32 and 33 because they can't keep up real have just signed casemiros 100m replacement with tchoumeni absolutley crazy.

We need to be focusing in on younger players and not panic buying. I had hoped we would have learnt to nit hand out ridiculous contracts.
I think Zakaria would have been a smart purchase back in January.

Casemiro is one of the best dms in the world. We'd get prob 2 good years out of him.
You can have 2 good years of the best dm on the planet, or Mcfred. I know what I'd choose.

They have bought two of the best young DMs, and Casimero is 30 and soon will be useless. Stay away at all costs.

Casemero is hardly injuried and for the position he plays in he is in his prime years, get him for 4 years an actual world class cm.

The guy who just went to wolves would have been great. watch him go to around 80 mill in 2 years time. I agree too old to be splashing that kind of money on.
He is tough and will sit there and battle away but not convinced on longevity in pl at his age.

Its not about getting our pants pulled down were the ones trying to buy the player he's a good player but his team have a replacement the problem is that we haven't looked into the long term when considering the deal.

No team spends 200 million on a DM with a 1 to 2 year view. They would be broke if you ran a business that way.
People wanting us to get to City or liverpool level, Arsenal and Chelsea not too far off now, need to realize they don't do this kind of stuff.
one example would do if you see them doing any transfer like this on any players 30 and above.
So either we continue with the madness but then stop complaining when all the short term thinking yields nothing or accept we need to pass on stuff like this.
They already have their midfield sorted with the camavanga and the other french guy. They paid 70 mill and 80 i think 22 and 23 i believe, proper way of running and building a team and phasing out older players.

No one is slating casemiro, what we are saying is this is why the club are having the problems they are 60m on a 30 year old on a 4 year deal with 400k wages.
Theres a reason madrid have paid 100m for tchouameni they don't think casemiro will be good enough in a season or 2 that would mean we have a 31/ 32 year old on 400k wages with 2/ 3 years left on a contract also we paid 60m to buy him whos going to take him off our hands? Are we going to make any money off him?
It only slightly makes any sense if the only position we need a player for was DM if your buying him to complete a team to win you trophies.

Dbrooks said exactly what i was saying. its not a debate about him about being a good player. He turns 31 in February. No one pay 60-70 million for players that age and on top gives them massive wages for 4 or 5 years. Its short term thinking and becomes problem down the line when you can't move them on or buy to replace them. kind of what is going on with us at the moment.
On the other page ed002 says Madrid is actually offering him to chelsea and United but does not know of any united interest or bid.
If that's the case I wonder why Madrid would be offering him since he is contracted till 2024 or 2025 and why they spend the kind of money they did on the french guy if he is solid for another 4 or 5 years. They must be stupid and never win anything:)

No one is slating casimero, he's an excellent player. But he's 30 years old and he'll be losing his pace just when he needs it most. If he was £20m, then fine, he's a good stop gap. But Real will want £60-£70m which is ridiculous for a player turning 31 in 6 months time.
