Here is a simple thought for our next game. Forget expansive play. Figure out how to set up defensively, play very compact and defend with numbers and yes if that means parking the bus do it. We can try and nick a goal or 2 on the counter. If that means dropping guys who don’t put in a shift defending then drop them. Bruno, rashford etc etc. 4-5-1
We need to stop conceeding, this team sucks when they go behind and goes from bad to worse.

I'll tell you what I would do.
Bring a bad boy in and for me that is Roy Keane, doesn't matter what role he plays but just having him on the training pitches absolutely bursting through players just to rip them apart is what I want to see.
These players have gotten so much love and don't have standards, Keane is crazy but atleast they will hear the truth and I don't think there's a man on the squad that can stay eye to eye with him.
Players have thrown previous managers under the bus, and they will throw ETH too.
Having a presence watching them who's hard on them.

Rashford and Bruno are not responsible for the last two results. Both have hardly been in the game as the midfield have been totally unable to progress the ball forwards. The only time any of our forwards have been able to get on the ball is when they have dropped down the the halfway line. But when they get on the ball there they are too far away from goal to threaten and are often crowded out.
Was it Bruno or Rashford's fault that Ronaldo lost the ball deep in his own half, then Jensen passed to Dasilva who strolled past Fred and fired a tame shot at DDG that the keeper allowed to dribble into the net?
Was it Bruno or Rashford's fault that DDG played a suicide pass to a tightly marked Eriksen that caused the turnover and a 3 Vs 2 chance for Brentford to scored their second?
Was it Rashford or Bruno's fault for the third goal where we couldn't defend a corner and Martinez lost out at the near post? Where was Slabhead to win the first header and clear the lines?
We're either Rashford or Bruno responsible for Brentford's fourth goal? With a long punt up field that Maguire and Shaw couldn't deal with?
Our issues with the goals we conceded were not to do with an inability to defend from the front, but entirely due to the incompetence and inability to get on the ball and resist the press in our defensive third.

I can count twice Rashford ran at blind alleys, Rashford is a tunnel vision one trick one pony.
Where was the frustration from Rashford making a bad tackle?
Atleast McTom came in and made a cynical tackle. How many times did Rashford beat a man, I:ll tell AWB beats his man more than rashford does.
Bruno? He has forgotten how to shoot, and I remember atleast one stupid free kick he gave.
Bruno and Rashford are playing because they are part of the mafia of United.
Rashford needs to go and for me Bruno needs to be on the bench.

Bruno can have 25 bad games yet it's okay, a guy like Donny has 3-4 bad games and we don't see him for 1 year.
Bailly was our best CB in pre season, yet he doesn't make the squad yet our worst CB Maguire is an untouchable.

Sick of excuses for the golden boy Rashford
I was one of the first years ago to say he was a one trick pony and has no football brain. Simply put he isn’t good enough for Utd has never has been just like his clown friend Lingard
The sooner he is gone the better
He couldn’t beat an egg
The performance he gave in the cup game against Aston Villa last season was the worst I’ve ever seen from any Utd player
He won’t be sold though he’ll be rewarded with a new mega deal like they all are
This club accepts mediocrity as do a lot of fans now

NC I do not think there is any other option than to park the bus against Liverpool, it would be suicidal not to.
There were quite a few posts this week on how poor Rashford has been and rightly so but what about Fernandes and Sancho, they have been pants and the £73M paid for Sancho is pants down big time.
Our midfield is none existent and I'm not even going to try and find an adjective for the defence, I just can't.
RR was spot on in his assessment of Man Utd, open heart surgery is required and I'll add, only a 50:50 chance of survival. The group of people we put on the pitch (I'll refrain from calling them players, as I do no think they deserve or represent being called that) must be embarrassed when looking at their own bank balances.
We knew there was not a quick fix and the manager must be backed by all, this will take some time and pain. I just hope we can survive the season without a relegation battel, I know that may seem distant at the moment but with performances like we have seen in the first 2 games who knows?

Surely from a tactical perspective when you are up against a side that is pressing high and leaving space in behind you ask your quickest forward to stay high to make the most of any potential to counter attack? That would be Rashford right? Unless you think Sancho or Ronaldo are faster than Rashford.
I find it baffling to understand how fans can watch a game where we struggle to get out our own half but then blame a player who should be playing in the final third.
The first goal was conceded when Ronaldo had dropped back to the edge of our defensive third and lost the ball. When your striker the player who should be the furthest forward is dropping deep into his own half to get on the ball its clear that the issue is getting the ball into attacking areas of the pitch.
But no don't let that get in the way of the Rashford agenda. It appears his good deeds have made some people feel so small that they can't stand the guy.
Don't get me wrong, he needs to play better, his form has been poor. But to try and blame him for a 4-0 defeat where DDG gave away two goals and our defensive and midfield were truly awful smacks of bias and an agenda against the guy.

Play them against Liverpool and then drop 90% of the team for the following games. Can’t throw a bunch of younger lads under the bus against Liverpool, it would be unfair.
ETH knows how bad this is now and he needs to take it into his own hands and show everyone above him at the club that this team needs replacing end of. He will end up losing his job anyway when we are bottom of the league come Christmas, so he might as well take drastic action. Piss the players off who cares, 99% of the fans will be on his side and will back him and that is what is needed to make meaningful change, otherwise the same players will continue to call the shots and bring this once great club to its knees further until we get relegated.
I’m already done with watching them this season, took me a good few months to get to this point last season. I have no time for players who don’t care and don’t give 100% for the fans.
Sell them all for anything we can get and start again, bring the kids in along with the new signings and anyone the manager feels he can rely on, which won’t be many.

I agree and would be very unfair to the young guys to be thrown in against liverpool. I suspect we will hopefully figure out what the best 11 to compete and not concede shocking goals.
One positive is malacia, i think he will turn out to be a really good player and for a change we did not pay crazy sums.
I think aws must be a consideration to start at right back. Dalot will get caught out as will shaw in the liverpool game.
I would not play martinez for his own sake. With nunez, konate, vvd it will be suicide to play him against those guys.

I think we are now back to where we where when Ferguson took over.
We have to shut up shop, I know we will not win by not scoring but you will no lose if you do not concede. A draw against Liverpool would be a huge result for us, yes a draw at home to them!
Remember John Sivebaek, fantastic right back going forward but as Fergie said, no good if he can't defend.
We have to learn how to defend, no good trying to play a pressing game which we simply do not have the mentality or players to do so. Back to basics and then build from there.

I feel we lacked real presence in midfield. Fred and Fernandes are simply not good enough. McTominay, when he came on, was disastrous. Sancho was not at the races largely I believe because Dalot is such a poor player and rarely finds him. I’m not sure which position is Rashford’s best. He clearly has ability but only shows this fleetingly. It will take a few games for Martinez to get to the pitch of the Premiership. I wouldn’t give up on him just yet.

Blackpool, if you watched that game and came to the conclusion that Rashford was the problem then frankly either you're the one whose had a bump to the head or you have an agenda against Rashford.
Do I believe Rashford is the answer? No.
But I could name a dozen or so players who need to be shown the door for not being good enough long before Rashford.
How you can sit there and watch DDG gift away two goals and come to the conclusion that it was Rashford's fault either shows a breath taking inability to understand the game or a clear bias/ agenda against Rashford.
Reasons we lost the game yesterday:
1, DDG having an absolute mare and gifting Brentford a two goal lead.
2, Our entire defence playing like a bunch of strangers and making numerous individual errors.
3, Our midfielder total inability to get on the ball, resist the press and progress the ball forward. They had absolute zero control despite having nearly 70% possession.
4, The team's weak mentality, the moment they face adversity they crumble. The plan and tactics went out the window and they played their own game within themselves.
Those are the reason's we lost and more worryingly performed that way yesterday. Bar maybe a shared responsibility for the team mentality Rashford cannot be held accountable for any of them.

In my humble opinion, play 3 at the back, with two full back squeezing in when we lose the ball to crowd the midfield. Drop Shaw for Malacia. Try to get Dalot to do a job. Play Garner or Iqbal as DM, then choose between our attacking players for the the rest of the team.
We have to stop conceding goals and be more compact. This is the only way forward.

Fernandes is also rubbish for every goal he scores he misses 3 sitters. Have a look at brighton game when it was 0-0.
If we take scholes as the top end of football intelligence on the pitch rashford comes in at the bottom. he takes shots when there is no shot, hates goiing outside and always l runs into traffic coming inside when there is no space and gives it away. One trick pony desperate to get on his right foot. As a defender easy to play. He crosses the ball like he is shooting, wrong pace, height etc etc
His production in terms of goals and assists are ion par with a average player at the lower end of the table. The sad thing is compared to the rest he is better than them but he is average.
He is another cleverly who some here defended as the next mesiah coming lol.

NC, people keep saying Rashford is a one trick pony with no footballing intelligence, yet only Bruno has more assists than him in the past 5 years.
He makes space for others and is actually decent at finding them in that space for them to score.
This 2 year nonsense is absolute bollox, just untrue drivel spouted by the anti-Rashford brigade.
Two years ago he finished the season with 19 goals and 11 assists. In the past 10 years only one player has ever finished a season with more than 30 goal contributions (Bruno) .
To say Rashford has been poor for 2 years when WITHIN that time he has not only had his best ever return in terms of goal involvements, but a better return than all bar one player in the past 10 years.
In the 2020/ 21 season when Rashford got 30 goal contributions, Mane got 22 and Firmino managed 16 for Liverpool. While in that same season Salah got 34, just 4 more than Rashford.
But no, apparently he was sh1t according to the short term memory brigade and worst than average.

Nobody gets a free pass on the basis of the first 2 games. Rangnick said Rashford was unhappy back in March and his agent is talking to PSG. I’d rather see a bit of old fashioned iron glove in an iron hand (yes I do mean that) style of management and kick this lot into shape or kick them out.

We have been poor across the pitch in both games. We can single out individual mistakes and continued use of players we know are not good enough but this is where we are right now as a club.
7 away defeats on the bounce speaks for itself. And if we lose our first 2 home games as would seem likely with Liverpool next then that whichever way you want to paint it is relegation form.
Successful teams have unity and team spirit. Ten Hag needs to decide what his core 15/ 16 players are he’s going to rely on from this group and the rest can play / train with the U23s if can’t be sold.
Some attack / defence of Rashford in the above. This season will be telling for him as individual but we as a club. There’s no way on God’s earth that City or Liverpool would be considering extending Rashford’s contract based on form. We SHOULD sell him. He is clearly open to it. If we sell him at least it’s a change in the right direction. If we extend his contract, God forbid on better terms, we will know that this club is screwed until the entire executive are replaced. And that’s only ever going to happen with new owners.
