FDJ situation getting very messy now between him and Barca, not seen anything like it, forget about our involvement- that's going to rumble on between them for some time I think.
All shaping up now for a 37 mill pound bid for Ruben Neves bid next week going in and getting rejected with us going back in with 75 million quid 2 hours before deadline.

Interesting article out there on ralf’s recommendations to the club in terms of who we should buy. I prefer his choices to what we have done so far or about to do. Make what you want out if it.

Barca situation is quite unbelievable, they are making us look like a well run club and that’s saying something……
They not registered the new purchases yet and still trying to buy more!

The Barcelona circu does seem bafffling. Buying players they can't register, and the treatment of FDJ is awful.

I tend to agree, I'm not liking the tactics Barcelona seem to be playing to get FDJ to agree to lower wages or leave the club. They seem to be treading a very fine line between morally bankrupt and constructive dismissal if the reports are true.
I tend to agree that this could rumble on and on and end in the courts. In which case it won't be resolved before the transfer window closes.
While I agree that the club should do what they can to give the manager his first choice options. There also has to be some reality about the situation and a decision needs to be made about when to draw a line under it and move on to other targets.

i think most football fans will agree there is something very wrong when talk starts of players and their club talking about possible legal actions against each other as has been reported in some tabloids.
Footballers get a bad rap- often with good reason but I just can't see how FDJ has found himself in this situation-he just wants to play for the club he chose to join, he seems to being very badly treated in all of this-good luck to him .

Spenno, it is EtH's decision to make. The reality is that the whole FDJ situation seems to be heading to the courts which means there is zero chance of a deal this summer.
EtH's decision now seems to be hold on in hope that Barcelona crack and pay FDJ what he is owed, but risk that not happening and him having no new midfielder.
Or to move on to an alternative target and actually improve the midfield this summer.
His decision to make, his job might depend on it.

Shappy, I agree. The club is being led by Erik's desperate wish to bring in de Jong. I can see why he wants the player - there's a previous relationship playing in the same style. But other factors beyond our control are screwing it up and if we don't act it will be Manchester Utd who suffer as we need a new midfield now. I can't help but feel that Erik seems a bit blinded by this whole obsession with Dutch players and the eredivisie. Are the only players we could make use of or find value in in that league? I know there is a premium on English players, but is that all? Guess you go with what you know, like Wolves and the Portuguese tilt.
