Henderson to forest makes little sense, hendo only gets a loan so his future isn't sorted, United don't get a fee so can't add funds to bring in players and we also have to pay some of his wages. Also forest will probably go down meaning they won't buy him outright anyways. All a bit strange.

The whole goalkeeping situation at United doesn't make sense.

We brought back Henderson from his loan at Sheffield United to sit on the bench for 2 years.

He was arguably the most promising young English goalkeeper at the time.

Two years where he could have been developing wasted on the bench.

While the club now have to make a decision with DDG. He has been poor in 3 of the last 4 season's and is entering the final year of his 375k a week contact.

Meaning the club have to sign him up to a new deal or watch him leave for free next summer.

However, signing him up to a new deal won't be easy. Will he agree a reduction in his wages or not? If not then can the club justify extending his contract on those wages or higher?

So the club now find themselves with a talented young English keeper who is trying to force a move out of the club so he can play.

While they are stuck with the highest paid keeper in the league, who might not suit EtH's style of play and who needs a contract extension or he will leave next summer.

Somehow the club have gone from having a world class DDG, the best back up keeper in the league in Romero and the best young English keeper in Henderson, to potentially having none of them at the club next summer and needing to sign both a first choice keeper AND a back up keeper (as Heaton will also leave next summer) .

They've literally managed to turn a position of complete strength into an area that needs a total rebuild in the space of 3 years.

One that can be attributed to Ole’s dithering personality and inability to make a decision.

It took DDG going on paternity leave for the goalkeeping situation to be sorted for a brief moment.

Hes sat on the bench because he isn't good enough to be number 1.

De gea is miles above henderson, we should have sold him 2 years ago when he price was high

And unless de gea can improve in his distribution and the ball at his feet he won't be there next year.

Dont get me wrong de gea was excellent last season but he will need to be able to play it out from the back.

DSG, 100% Ole should have just made a choice and let the other leave.

Personally I think both Henderson struggling to settle AND to a point DDG's poor form (he had been poor before Henderson returned to the club) could be attributed to a lack of consistency in picking who starts.

While it was good to see DDG return to good form last season when he was guaranteed to start. The reality is his profile as a keeper is almost the polar opposite of what EtH has tended to look for and use as a keeper in his team's. Maybe he can adapt and show he can play out from the back and act as a sweeper keeper. But it is a question mark hanging over him for next season.

You can see it it now. Typical of Manchester United over the past ten years.

DDG will struggle next season, while Henderson on loan will be one of the top keepers in the league again as he was at Sheffield United.

He'll then leave permanently next summer, while United have to scratch around to find both a new keeper and a back up keeper.

Shappy, most promising goalkeeper. He's okay mate. Don't be getting too excited.

Got his chance and couldn't take it.

Nobody of any significance wants him. Nobody of any significance ever made an offer for him sheff utd and forest is his level until he justifys all the claims some of his fan boys make.

He could be a top keeper but all the buyers obviously think different.

Not sure it was a position of strength, but the least worse part of our team, which doesn't say much.

Good luck to Henderson, can't see him back at United after his loan, but I did also say that about Pirlo.

We love sentiment. So we’ll probably keep DDG and give him a new contract worth 500k a year, despite the fact he can’t kick a ball. As for Henderson…. we can do better.

I think Ole made the decision to Use Henderson, but he got C.V. before start of season and DdG stepped in and rediscovered his form.

Agree with Bolger and Ken. Ddg has never been my favourite keeper as apart from his shot stopping, he possesses none of the attributes required of a modern day keeper.
Henderson played a few matches and he looked very nervous and totally out of his depth. He's another Ben Foster. Should've sold him and bought a decent replacement. Luckily, there are good keepers out there, so hopefully we can get a competent replacement if Henderson is sold.
If I was United, I would have done a deal involving Henderson and Spence, that would've suited both sides.

Tim, they have an option to buy for £20 million which says it all about the player.

Shappy you put a lot of time and effort into Henderson, pulling stats up iv never heard of to prove Henderson was better than De Gea. That was a couple of years ago and now we can see you were on the wrong side of the fence on that one. As Ken has said, no one decent wants him.

You're also revising history. The club didn't bring him back from loan to sit on the bench. He told the club he wasn't going out on loan and he should be No.1. A smart man should have known that if he goes on loan for another couple of years, outperform De Gea then he's our No.1 for a decade. He was gifted a shot underservedly and squandered it. He's not a better keeper than Dave, never has been and never will be. Hopefully he does well at Forrest and they purchase him. Any team with aspirations for top honours need a better GK than a fragile, egotistical average keeper.
