As long as we have Scotland centre back in
our midfield, we won't progress. Midfield is vital and FDJ would be a great start, a proper DM is as important if we are to truly improve.

Would Kante be able to do that job? He would be a cheaper option and could do a job for 2 years. Ed mentioned we are looking to add 2 MF this window so may be?

{Ed004's Note - I am not sure. I haven’t dug into the stats but he seems to have missed a fair few games this year and even been subbed off a lot. I think if Chelsea are willing to sell on the cheap they’d have this concern as well. Although a well managed Kante (ie once a week job like Ronaldo) would work well alongside FDJ if he signs}

I tend to agree with ed004 on this one. I think he missed 18 epl games this year not all through injury he was dropped a few times. Don't think he sees eye to eye with tuchel.
That said he is not the player he was at his best. He would improve us for sure but there is no more improvement in him and he is on the decline.
I wouldn't be totally against it but it is very short term as far as transfers go imo.

I thought Kante was poor in the FA Cup final. I'd prefer to sign a younger player instead.
{Ed004's Note - I agree but it all depends on what funds we have. If signing Kante for an affordable price means we can also sign a rb or rw I think it would impact my final decision. McFred can play Europa while FDJ and Kante play league isn’t a bad set of options to have}

Apparently we've made offers for neves (ojogo and record i belive) and antony (goal brazil) no idea how true it is though ed has said we are i terested in both.

Would you sell Rashford?
His attitude on the pitch was schocking, he simply couldn't be bothered. I think he might be difficult to sell givne how poornhe has been.

I agree ed004, it’s about being pragmatic. The rebuild is going to take a couple of seasons and we need to think long term. For example keeping DDG and waiting until the right replacement is available while cashing in on Henderson to fund other areas makes total sense. I see Kante as a similar option. He can be bridge 2 seasons offering a great option and experience, while we asses Garner or wait for 1st choice options to arise.
