Think maybe going back to the fergie policy of trying to sign established players in the league could work well for EtH. Bowen and neves being among my picks. Saying that it didn't work so well with Maguire or Sanchez did it ?.

At the right price, definitely upgrades over what we have.
I don't think getting Bowen would be easy. He's been very clinical for them. not sure what his contract situation is though.

They still harp on about the Paul Ince transfer in 1989.

There is definitely an advantage to signing players who have been successful at other EPL clubs.
City have signed Stones, Walker, Ake, Sterling, Mahrez and Grealish to varying degrees of success.
Liverpool have signed Robertson, VvD, Henderson, Milner, Mane, AOC and Jota to varying degrees of success.
While not all those players have been hugely successful in the first 11, none have flopped, all being at least solid squad options and all probably giving good value for money.
We should definitely look to see which players in the EPL and even in the Championship who might be able to step up and do a job for us.
That said we shouldn't ignore players in foreign leagues. We need a fairly comprehensive overhaul of the squad and need to bring in many players over the next few years. While players in the EPL might be less likely to flop, they do come at a premium. Which is something we need to balance.
I do feel the a majority of fans though tend to turn their noses up at players already playing in the EPL and prefer an exotic foreign player playing in mainland Europe who they have often only seen once or twice or maybe even just a YouTube highlight reel.
Oddly drawn more to the unknown rather than the familiar.

I understand your opinion red whiskey I just think it's irrelevant and based on zero knowledge of running a football club and or team.
No point in listing off lots of players the club has no interest in and as for you comment of "we should be going for" what knowledge or experience do you have to think that you know better than our manager or strategist for the summer window?
