Hi Ed002,
With Ten Hag arriving, will he be interested to bring any players from Ajax?

Agree0 Disagree0

Donny :D.

I would expect him to want to bring in one or two as players who know his style. Would expect talks with Timber/ Antony, also with donny here I would expect him to be brought back in even If as a bench player.

Haller, Tadic, Blind and Berghuis, see if they can cut it in the premier league once again.

Pogba off - Donny to replace him I’d have thought?

Wonder what will happen with the GK situation. Klopp and Guardiola didn’t hang about making big GK calls to get the right stickman to play their style. Admittedly Klopp wasn’t blessed with a great GK but Guardiola wasted no time axing Joe Hart, even resorting to the woeful Bravo, who knew his system from Barca. Does DDG fit in with ten Hag’s style?

I think it’s time ddg left! Yes makes great saves here and there but on the whole weak, physically and mentally! He can be rattled! Yet the biggest concern is with his feet which unfortunately ETH will want him to be excellent at! He’s one of the worst in the league with the ball and distribution! I know it never used to be an issue but unfortunately modern keepers need to do it! Fresh start!

Still, probably our player of the season Chris after a ropey few months when the whole DDG v Henderson thing was in full flow? Not a particularly hard feat, admittedly.

DDG is probably the best shot stopper in the world, but if you're a great team playing good football then your keeper shouldn't be have to make many saves.

Take Alisson for Liverpool against us. He had to make 1 save in 90 minutes, yet he had 70 touches, making 59 passes with a 91% completion rate.

He played an important role in HOW Liverpool play as a team. He enables them to have a higher line, he enables them to play out from the back. In short he is a key player in enabling Liverpool to dominate teams.

DDG is the better shot stopper, but DDG still had to pick the ball out of his net 4 times against Liverpool. Despite facing 14 shots, and saving 5.

If you are a team that will be under the cosh, will have teams right up against you. Then you need a keeper who can pull of world class shots above all else.

If however, you aim to be a side that dominates the ball, that plays most the game in the opposition half, then you need a keeper who can enable you to play that high and who is comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Football isn't just about who's the best player, but which player best suits how you want to play.

Is that DDG? I guess we'll see.
