I’ve been underwhelmed so far with Ralf but I thought he did well last night.

The first half was very poor but the change post half time suggests he put a rocket up them and the energy and effort was markedly improved. Of course we should ask why they don’t start games like that but small step I guess.

He left Maguire out and kept Elanga in, and he had no qualms taking Ronaldo off, although seeing Ralf talking to him the way he did didn’t look great.

Still, great to see Greenwood and Rashford score, hopefully their confidence will improve because we know they are both talented players. Great to see Elanga score, he is really taking his chance.

DDG saved us again in the first half, Bruno is returning to his old self, and whilst I know not everyone agrees with me I thought Scott was immense last night. Scott is so frustrating as he can play like he did last night and then be anonymous in the next game.

A good 3 points with 3 goals, top 4 looks a real challenge with so many teams vying for it, however, Chelsea are being sucked backwards into the mix so any 2 from Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and us. Of course if West Ham beat us then they are also in the mix but I suspect they will fade.

I feel better than I have for a while, it will be incremental gains but there were positive signs in the second half last night. Now, if we could just find a Fred replacement….

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with that AJH, there were a few positives last night, particularly McTominay's performance and Elanga keeping his place.

McTominay's size and strength just seems to have lulled fans into assuming he is / will be a defensive midfielder but he is showing he is more of a box to box player. His ability to run through midfield is a great attribute to have for us.

Good decisions as well from Rangnick, seems to be doing things his way as there is not a hope in hell that we'd have seen that team selection or those subs when Ole was here. Though I felt he dealt with the Ronaldo petulance about as well as he could. If Ronaldo is subbed, he is generally always going to react like that and Rangnick allowed him to have a bit of a tantrum then talked it over. In my opinion it says more about Ronaldo than Rangnick as its simply creating a problem for a manager to have to solve.

I think RR is doing a good job with managing personalities within the squad he is only in the fit and it takes time to know how and what players respond to.
Fergie didn't treat all his players the same managers that do don't kat long.
Thankfully fergie didn't ignore the likes of Cantona and Ronaldo or keane or Rooney when they spat their dummy out. He showed great management skills.
What do you think the benefit would have been too the group if he had ignored ronaldo would have been ajh?
God knows what you thought of fergie running out to France to beg Cantona to continue playing.
I agree on last night 1st half poor 2nd half was good
Dalot and telles were good Bruno had a good 2nd half mctom had a decent game Fred we saw some good some bad and some ugly same as every week.
Ronaldo was good up front good movement and the 3 wide boys got a goal.
Defence was poor and mctom playing as the deepest did not do that part of his role well but it's not his strength. They walked through our midfield so element's of his game were poor particularly in his positional sense defensively.
They could have scored 3 or 4 with more composed finishing.
Set pieces for and against are a shambles.
Ddg at his best in terms of shot stopping and is head and shoulders our best performing and most consistent player this season.

In terms of performances, I think it has been underwhelming. We've had the odd flashes which I think offers a bit of hope and encouragement, the issue however is that these have been just half of games and against, with all respect to the opposition, Burnley, Villa and Brentford. But then to expect him to come in and performances to change dramatically when you are changing the style is unrealistic. We saw a bit of a kick when Ole came in but he didn't change the style really, just gave the team some freedom which was the right thing at the right time but long term, we couldn't rely on it as we were to find out.

However, I am impressed with Rangnick's interviews and how he appears to be dealing with players and essentially, not being influenced by individuals within the squad, something this bunch need.

Game of two halves but important to get the 3 points. Highlight for me was watching Elanga constantly make runs to try and get behind opposition back line and he got his reward with the goal when we found him. Too often are wingers come to the ball or stand still waiting for a pass so this was instantly noticeable to me.

Great to see three young English goalscorers.

i think given time rangnick will get the team playing in his image of how we need to play. Jurgen Klopp had some disastrous performances earlier on until he settled in. I like Rangnick but always thought it was an odd descision to bring him in for 6 months as he was never going to have an instant impact. He is a team builder not an impact manager. last two games there has been signs of us, albeit slowly starting to turn things but West Ham will be ab bigger test of that.

Elanga is Swedish I thought.

U are all seeing what? A good performance you speak…if play good team we would have been 4 down by half time and no way back! It was Brentford who lost 3 on go last games!
Ralf is doing good, he devalued half of our players! I don’t understand what you all think he is or done before, In Germany he is known as little man for little clubs! That’s it, why Munich, Dortmund not come calling, because of what he is!

He's doing great IMO. Put players in their place and seems to have realised the 4222 allowed us to be over run in midfield.

Klopp is in 2022. Ralf still in 1990.
