Ralf says the right things, has the right ideas,

But like every manager since Ferguson to come to utd they fail to implement there style.

Personally I'd like to see someone who ralf has brought through the game manage the club, especially if he is going to move up.

EDS do you have any potential managers that could come in and happily work with ralf.

Also for the role Darren fletcher is in I don't believe he should he on the bench or around the players.

{Ed077's Note - The likes of Hassenhuttl and Jesse Marsch have previously worked under Rangnick at Leipzig.

Roger Schmidt, Marco Rose, Adi Hutter, Jesse Marsch were the managers at RBS when RR was the joint DoF at RBL and RBS.

Julian Naggelsmann came through at Hoffenheim, where RR spent around 5 years coaching the team from Regional league to Bundesliga for t/e first time in their history. JN is said to be influenced by RR's work there. He also moved to RBL while RR was overlooking the whole Red Bull group.

Hope that helps a little BIG V.

It’s interesting you mention Hassenhuttl Ed. I was chatting with my Dad and said it’s strange we got a manager with a specific style and philosophy for 6 months, different to the previous manager to then change again potentially to another manager with a different approach, Poch, and wondered if with Rangnick moving upstairs would the new manager be cut from the same cloth as him and when he came in and all the reports and stories, I read Hassenhuttl was one who he had influenced. I know it wouldn’t be a popular choice but I did think he might become an option. He’s had a mixed time at Southampton but shown he is a very good manager. I’m not saying he’d be my 1st choice before people jump on it, just a thought.

{Ed077's Note - there are many managers that tend to play a high energy, high pressing system that Rangnick likes though.

I don't think it needs to be deciple of RR's to follow him. Many young managers who have never crossed paths with RR play a modern pressing style of play. Marcelo Bielsa for example also deploys a pressing style and there are just as many current managers who have learned both directly and indirectly from him. Pochettino being one, Marcelo Gallardo being another.

{Ed002's Note - It is not Rangnick's decision. It is the club's decision and they know who they want and it would be up to Rangnick to object as he will be part of the process. Due to the twisted structure of the club such decisions will be a mess until there are major changes.}

Ed002, do you think those changes are likely?
How much weight will Rangnick's opinion as a consultant actually carry?
Is there a genuine feeling that the club's wants to embrace change and move in a more modern and progressive direction or is there a resistance to change and a certain amount of making noise to appease the fans?

{Ed002's Note - (a) Not in the short term - none are planned. (b) There is no point having consultants unless their opinion is listened to. Many clubs use people they trust to give them advice and many clubs use them prior to any major additions. (c) No, the club remains a dinosaur run by amateurs. Players are unhappy and results are not good. No Champions League will make attracting players and the coach they want difficult.}

Yeah I totally agree Ed, I just wonder if Rangnick will want someone he knows personally and can, I don't want to say influence but can guide and has already a good relationship with, with him moving into the role he is supposedly going to be moving into.

{Ed077's Note - there is a first for everything though. I think that being a coach in the mould of RR's vision would be more important than having prior experience of working with him. Although how much RR will have a say in the matter is unclear.
