Henderson been told he can't leave on loan in January and must stay until the summer. Really don't see the sense in keeping an unhappy player, especially considering the current state of morale in the squad. Surely with Heaton and grant we have more than enough cover of DDG. clearly deano has the World Cup in mind, I think letting him go on loan would be wise for all parties.

Agree0 Disagree0

No we don’t, if 2 get C.V. we are screwed.
Heatons not good enough for a start and grant is a water carrier.

Should have treated Romero better who didn’t mind as much being a no.2.

You say that now, but if DDG does a knee ligament and is out for the rest of the season are you comfortable knowing that one of Heaton or Grant will have to play every game. All league, UCL and FA cup games.

Heaton is a great third choice keeper, but if/ when Henderson leaves we'll need a new No.2.

We are paying the guts of 350-400k a week for 2 goalkeepers, one of whom never plays. Makes zero sense to me.

Not your money mate I wouldn’t worry about that.

Tim, the keeper position is just so vital it's the one area of the pitch where you just can't afford to play a substandard player.

You stick a championship standard defender, or midfielder or forward into any EPL team and it will obviously weaken them. But it won't cost them goals and points every weekend.

However, you stick a championship standard keeper in any given EPL side then that will cost them goals and points pretty much every weekend.

I like Heaton, but he's no better than Howard or Foster were for us.

If we had to play him for the the rest of the season he'll cost us 6-10 points. Which will definitely mean no top 4, on current form possibly mid-table or below.

I don't get it. We used to have VDS who was more injury prone than De Gea and Kusczak as the the backup.
Heaton is definitely ahead of Kuzczak, I do not see the point of keeping a top keeper like Henderson, sell him get the money and use elsewhere. Or atleast take money for a 2 year loan.
De Gea, hasn't been injured for long durations throughout his career with us.

Im sure Henderson isn't a problem in the dressing room, my thought is it might be better having him leave on loan now seeing as he doesn’t want to be there and wants to play. So many players who want to be elsewhere in a group that is already divided and out of form. That’s all I’m saying.

Tim, I think your point highlights the problem we have with this group of players. Ddg is not my favourite keeper, he lacks Authority, distribution is rubbish, no command in the box, no communication with the defenders. However, he fought his way back from a dip in form, and regained his spot.
Henderson on the other hand, got given a chance, didn't really take it, got dropped to no 2. So, instead of working hard to regain his no1 spot, he's moaning and whinging and asking to leave.
And that, in a nutshell, applies to a lot of the overpaid, overhyped players we have at the club. Major attitude problem.
