With a few out of contract and a few looking to leave January could see plenty of our goings. As a business even getting Pogba and Lingard off the wages would be great, l can't see anyone paying a fee now. So would it make financial sense to let them go or a very very cheap sale and save 6 months wages, must be close to 300+ grand a week, save 7 million. Don't see either player helping the team or risking injury from January. Then in thr summer again look at Mata, Matic, Jones etc. We will need players in to play this new system.

Surely its worth keeping Pogba for the final 6 months regardless of wages. Inconsiatent he might be, but if he can string 5-6 performances together towards the end of the season, it might be the difference between United winning something and having another barren year.

I'm not so sure Grim, while Pogba has talent he has always shown it sporadically in a United shirt.

Do you think Pogba is suited to Rangnick's high energy, high pressing, high work rate style of play?

Because I don't see where he fits in.

In theory Lingard has the right attributes to play Rangnick's style of football. Yet with Jesse we have seen he is only really able to replicate his best form when he is first choice and plays every week. He struggles to play at his best when he's in and out of the team.

There are at least half a dozen players who could leave in January who would probably be lucky to play 360 minutes each of football in the second half of the season for us.

Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Martial, Jones, and Henderson will probably all struggle for game time this season. Move on as many as possible I'd say.

Pogba isn't worth it. He flatters to deceive and the team would have etc carry him.

Ralf could have a plan to accommodate Paul, on his day he is our best midfielder by far, the issue has always been those days have been few and far between.

You have raised an interesting point of the role of the interim manager, is it Ralf's job to clear out players before the new manager comes in or just steady the ship. Hasn't Ralf said he would like to stay as the manager, so is he planning for next season in his own image.
What if the club definitely want a new manager, is it his role to clear out those players he doesn't consider good enough, the new manager might see it differently. For all we know the club could have already made a decision and decisions are being made with the next manager in mind, who knows.

And there you have it Grim; "on his day" of which unfortunately there have been very few.

Pogba is one of those people who tries very hard to pretend they are doing are something. When he closes down opposing players it's always a nearly thing, he nearly gets there but never in time where he would have to put in an actual tackle.

What a crap player he has been. I can't wait to see the back of such a frustrating nearly man. A shame really that the fans never properly got to show him what they thought of his efforts over the years. I think he should have gone a few games at OT where he was booed every time he got the ball.

The Pogba debate is intriguing. We can’t on one hand be crying for McFred to be dropped, sell Pogba six months early and call for midfield youth to be called up, as there is nobody ready yet. I can see us signing one mid in Jan but realistically with all the likely outgoings in the short term we might need three. I can see the appeal of a Pogba - De Jong swap as we both get a player we need more at that time. Maybe a lower-key mid like Haidara or Kamara are more likely in Jan.

De Jong will be ad bad as dvb. Stay well clear. He's done nothing at Barca. Another one that flatters to deceive. I think you'll see us buying high intensity players.
Pogba, lingard, mata, Jones all have to go in January. But realistically, I can only see lingard going.

Mancman, I agree long term Pogba now has no future at the club. However if you need someone to come off the bench to win a game, hit that defence splitting pass I would rather him as an option for the last 6 months of his contract than not, we all know what he is capable of.

Sorry Grim, but i don't agree. More likely he will give the ball away in dangerous areas.

The guy is a fraud and is stealing a living.

On his day, Pogba is a brilliant footballer who gives everything for the team.
Unfortunately, that day happens only during a leap year.

Something just doesn't seem right about Pogba and Leap years.

Leaping seems like far too much hard work for him. How about a gentle stroll followed by hitting a 50 yard telegraphed pass in a looping fashion giving the opposition plenty of time to set up to defend the switch in play.

Pogba has the skills to be very useful in Ralf's system, he lacks the desire and work rate to cut the mustard though.

You might be able to mitigate one player like Ronaldo not running the hard yards and making the sacrifices for the team. But you can't do it with 2 players in Ronaldo AND Pogba being lazy off the ball.

More to the point why give a player the chance to screw up the tactics when they aren't committed to the side.

You've heard Ralf's comments about players who are not committed, he won't try to convince them to stay, and he won't suffer them.

If you don't do the work Ralf asks of you then you won't play. Simple as that. Case in point Ronaldo injuring himself sprinting to win the ball back.

Out of all the players mentioned Pogba would be the first out of the door. Waste of time, waste of money and has been nothing but a pain in the arse since he came back. I can't wait to see the back of him.
