With Bruno Fernandes looking like it is inching over the finish line🤞

There is still a clear need for more fire power up front. Having seen the links to Silmani and Ighalo I was wondering if there are any other options to be had from somewhere.

The issue seems to be that club's don't want to lose good players mid-season and we would prefer a short term deal.

Players like Wissam Ben Yedder could be an option on a permanent deal for big money, but that's not what the club is looking for.

I've racked my brains to try and come up with someone who could be viable. The name I've eventually settled on is Anderson Talisca current playing in China. The Chinese league doesn't kick off until February/ March, so there isn't the issue of him leaving mid season. Whether we would be able to agree a loan with a option to buy I don't know.

He is a player we have been linked with in the past. More of a second striker than an out and out forward but able to play as the main striker. Also comfortable playing from the right hand side. Still youngish as 25.

Might be worth a punt.

Who would you guys like to see the club sign as a forward?

Jovic for me. Loan with option to buy.

On the basis we will not get the future players we want with a few days to go I am only interested In loans. That means we are looking at lower end players who can do a soa e and may have upside without blocking Greenwood. In that case Slimani makes sense to me without a long term commitment because who knows what that is for us.

Giroud, available on loan, adds presence in the box, and excellent at hold up play.

I agree, Danny. Gives us a Plan B as well.

Danny, I did think about Giroud. Excellent player and massively underrated by many. With players like Rashford and Greenwood cutting in from the flanks and with Bruno Fernandes joining from midfield a player with the hold up and link up play of Giroud would be fantastic.

However, with us currently Chelsea's closest challengers for top 4 would they really sell to us? Imagine they did and then he played a key role in us beating them to 4th. I just can't see them selling him to us unfortunately. But if they would he would be my first choice.

I guess it’s a question of if Chelsea decide that it’s more important to get him off their wage book. He isn’t in Lampard’s plans and there’s talk of Spurs making a loan bid. If there’s a chance they’d loan to Spurs, we should make an offer.

Really underrated player, and key to France’s WC win.

Would love Werner.

Yes, Giroud! Was harping in about him a while ago. I think he would be perfect for us. If we wait till the end of the season Aubameyang would be spectacular.

If we wanted a physical presence as a forward with PL experience Giroud is a good shout.

Werner would just be an excellent signing who'd walk into our team at the moment.

As an outside shout, how about Diego Costa? Couldn't stand him at Chelsea but he'd maybe give us a bit of attitude in our team? Probably a mistake right enough and of course it's not going to happen but Atletico have plenty of forward options and are after Cavani.

Right now, giroud wouldn't be a bad short term option.

If either martial or greenwood get injured, we are in deep trouble.

Chelsea won’t loan or sell to a rival this window. Neither Utd or spurs will sign Giroud.
