With all the fuss about Gomes and Chong, would like to know who are the top 3 academy graduates who never fulfilled their potential?

Eds your picks?

{Ed004's Note - Morrison, Rossi and struggling with the 3rd}

Agree0 Disagree0

James Wilson? Richardson? Gibson?

{Ed004's Note - Probably James Wilson. He had a lot of hype.}

19 Dec 2019 12:14:15
Ravel Morrison is the obvious one, James Wilson was hyped before injury robbed him of his chance.

Ryan Tunnicliffe was highly thought of, as was Larnell Cole.

A lot of the 2011 youth cup winning team were highly thought of. Yet only Pogba, Lingard and Micheal Keane can really say they have succeeded at the top level.

19 Dec 2019 12:26:13
Yeah, I thought Wilson looked like a natural striker. Injuries didn't help. Same with young Will Keane. And the young Italian midfielder who's name I can never remember.

19 Dec 2019 12:34:19
Davide Petrucci?

19 Dec 2019 12:36:42
Macheda, Januzaj and Morrison are the ones which shouldve made it to the top.

19 Dec 2019 12:44:32
3 yet to be mentioned Posibon, Januzaj, Eagles,
Bonus 2 Blackett, Eagles.

19 Dec 2019 12:45:43
Nou are you thinking of Davide Petrucci?

I'd also add Callum Gribbin to list.

19 Dec 2019 13:25:20
Chris eagles, Keith Gillespie.

{Ed047's Note - no Tom Cleverly, Danny Welbeck, Fabio or Raphael

19 Dec 2019 13:43:14
Luke Chadwick. Should have been the undisputed ugliest man in football, but was held back by his lack of talent.

19 Dec 2019 14:04:36
CBJ, McNair.

19 Dec 2019 14:14:51
Petrucci, that's the one. Another injury-plagued one if I remember correctly.

19 Dec 2019 14:15:42
Ken, Gillespie got to play for Northern Ireland. He fulfilled his potential and more 😁.

19 Dec 2019 14:36:33
He was a good player Stevie. Could have been great.
Liked a bet like so many others. ruined him.

19 Dec 2019 14:53:42
Rafael did well for us! Biggest ones for me are Adnan, Morrison and Will Keane.

19 Dec 2019 16:16:36
Luke Chadwick was never going to beat Ian Dowie to that award, Danny.

19 Dec 2019 16:43:45
Stevie, this is the thing though. You can buy the bling and the cloths and have the lifestyle AND still be a dedicated professional.

I don't ever remember David Beckham's professionalism being questioned. He worked hard on the training pitch and was dedicated to being the best he could.

19 Dec 2019 17:38:24
I'm an auld fart, Shaps, and some of the stuff the young ones get up to used to do my head in. Then I try and remember they're still human beings too with their own problems and issues. I've now reconciled myself to the fact there's just a generational gap, and as long as they work hard I've no problem with what they get up to. Within reason of course.

19 Dec 2019 18:40:55
Stevie, the final stage of grief is acceptance. Now you've mourned your youth you can settle comfortably into the "grumpy old man" stage of your life.

If you're ever unsure how you're supposed to react during this stage of your life you could always ask the advice of our very own Victor Meldrew Ken 😂.
