How good has Dan James been? When he came in i thought he would be a squad player at best turning out in the last few minutes, on the left wing. Probably playing for the reserves occasionally. And yet somehow he's come in slotted in seamlessly on the right side and has been one of our more consistent players all season. Goes to show that occasionally gems like him and Madison can be found in the lower leagues without having to pay extortionate fees.

Last night he kept putting in inviting balls in the six yard, the kind that CFs end up with tap ins.

Also credit to AWB last night he was immense, MOTM by a fair distance. Fred seems to have found his groove and McT is a bundle of energy, those two are developing a good understanding. Pity that Fred had to endure racist chants and projectiles from the home support.

Once AWB let's Sterling out his back pocket I am curious to see what he has to say about the incident seeing as he's previously asked for 9 point deductions for racist incidents.

Next few games are what other big teams call winnable but for us we never really can say for sure.

Also credit to Ole, he's come out of his most testing week yet smelling of roses.

He has been great but he does need to stop falling over every time he is touched. He put us in trouble a couple of times yesterday when pushed off the ball. A few gym sessions might help.

Tony, the important thing is to improve his core and not gain huge muscle mass. He needs to be stronger without gaining size as that will slow him down and make him less mobile.

I'm really impressed with how he is blossoming on the right hand side. Many players sulk when not played in their favoured position. He just gets on with it and works on being the best he can in whichever position he is played in.

Personally he is my favourite signing we made in the summer, even though I love AWB and feel he has more potential. James just has an infectious attitude and work rate. A player who seems to genuinely love playing for the club.

Shaps, he’s been great and made that position his own, he just needs more physicality.

Tony, it's a fine balance. He needs to be able to not be brushed off the ball so easily. Yet you need to build that up slowly so it doesn't impact his raw pace. It's his core he needs to build, extra muscle mass in his arms or legs will just slow him down.

Either way he has done a great job and has earned his place in the starting 11.

{Ed001's Note - extra muscle mass in his arms or legs will just slow him down? Have you ever seen a 100m sprinter? Muscle mass doesn't slow them down does it?}

Ed001, Running for 10-12 seconds and running for 90 minutes are a world away. Have you ever seen a physically imposing marathon runner?

Sprinters have well defined leg muscles, but they need to be careful not to have excess muscle or that they build the muscle they do have too quickly. While arm muscles are also not about size.

Sprinters build up lean muscle as the bigger they are the more drag they create when sprinting which slows them down. It's also why sprinters tend to be shorter as the larger stride rate doesn't normally make up for the drag, while they tend to be less explosive due to having longer muscles.

In the past few years we have had players like Valencia and Lukaku who have suffered from a drop in top speed and acceleration due to building muscle mass. They also tired quicker due to carrying the additional weight which meant their endurance was effected and they struggled later on in games.

James doesn't need to get bigger, just more core strength which will make him harder to knock off the ball. His best asset is his pace and stamina, we shouldn't sacrifice any of that to make him physically stronger.

{Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? You should stop you are talking crap. Pace does not go from adding muscle mass, what the hell is marathon running to do with anything? How many pacey marathon runners do you know? Just stop before you make even more of an arse of yourself than you already have.

By the way, you are completely ignorant with your comments on Valencia. It was nothing to do with muscle mass that Valencia lost pace, it was injuries.

What the hell is tiring quicker got to do with anything? You ignorantly and falsely claimed muscle mass slowed down a player. Nothing to do with endurance or stamina, you were talking about pace. You were wrong. Just stop trying to twist the argument to totally unconnected things.

By the way, how many footballers do you know that run for 90 minutes? None of them do, the ball is not even in play for 60 minutes on average and they spend periods of the game walking or jogging.}

I totally agree with ed here and adding muscles shouldn't slow u down and infact it should make u faster.

I think Shappy is confusing muscle with fat. 😂😂.

Its ok you you wait for a week shappy will contradict himself and it will all be ok😂
I understand the thought process shappy. But you have it wrong.
There is muscle that can be put on as a footballer that can hinder movement flexability and durability but under the right professional regime that shouldn't happen or be allowed to happen.
The team at Carrington will know what suits his body and game best and strengthen those areas accordingly. Other players will be in their own individual programme designed specifically to their needs.
Rash has the near perfect physique for his game. He is developing very like ronaldo did at the same age.
He could do worse than have a word with his hero and commit himself to a simialar work ethic.

1 word, Ronaldo.

Best example would be ADAMA TRAORE, guy is a beast and his pace is scary.
