Just a nice wee bit of news, amongst all the angst at the moment.
Heard today that Mickey Thomas was given the all-clear in his fight against cancer. While he'll not ever be considered amongst the ranks of the true greats at Utd, he gave a very young Stevie his first ever autograph, back in the days when the players would stroll out of OT and chat with waiting fans, rather than kept out of sight. Absolute gents, him and Jimmy Greenhoff as they chatted with me and my dad.
He replaced my first hero, Gordon Hill, and became my new favourite after that meeting. Really glad to hear the news this morning, and hope he enjoys his new lease of life.
