A fair few "media" sources saying we are looking at Allegri. They must be slowly reading through the Man Utd Rumours archive and just reached 2015.

Allegri is the sort of manager we need right now. We need to forget about playing styles for the minute.

How we win is currently less important than making sure we win.

We are in a awful mess and we need a more experienced manager to see us through, someone who can be diplomatic with those above them and can control the ego's in the dressing room.

Names like Allegri, Blanc, Wenger and Benitez are the type of managers we need to be looking at if we are to replace Ole.

Shappy, that all depends on whether we can get Allegri back onside after messing him about. I do hope we are trying. I know it's an old cliche, but we really do need to go back to basics and for the reasons you mentioned, he'd be a stellar choice.

I heard that Pogba would stay if Allegri was appointed and the only one stopping the sacking of Ole is Woodward. We need to look at an Allegri or Poch type, however Poch would be expensive to buy out. I would have Wenger short term if we want to wait to the end of the season.

It appears they perhaps don’t want a new manager to be in place for the Liverpool game, making Ole a potential sacrificial lamb, knowing defeat could be the end. Just a mess, an indecisive mess.

{Ed002's Note - Is this all on Twitter then?}

I would like Poch or Nagelsmann.

I rate Pochettino, but still have a few reservations about him. It has all gone sideways for him at Spurs this season, and sadly currently Spurs have a much better and stable set up behind the scenes. If Pochettino is unable to steer the ship that is HMS Hotspur back on track then I do wonder if he has the ability to do so with the giant of a club that we are while we are in the dire mess we find ourselves currently.

It might be a gamble too far when what we need is as close to absolute certainty.

Allegri is a great manager, yet he didn't set the world alight at AC Milan. A club who's current predicament most closely resembles what we are going through. He also speaks limited English and has never managed in England (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not sure he has ever managed outside of Italy) .

The same can be said for Blanc having only managed club football in France, but titles with both Bordeaux and PSG is impressive. He also speaks English and he knows the club.

Wenger at his age would only be a stop gap, a good short term custodian while the club gets the rest of its affairs in order. i.e director of football etc.

Rafa Benitez could also be a solid option, successful everywhere he has gone. The only blot on his copy book from a United fan perspective is his stint in charge of Liverpool. Yet he would be an excellent choice.
