I haven't yet listened to the latest podcast yet but regarding time wasting, the American football model would kill it in instant.

Measure the average time a ball is in play during the 90 minutes over a month or two, round it up to 60/ 70 mins at my guess and just stop the clock when the ball is out of play, simples.

I’ve been banging the drum on time wasting for so long now, so many times I go to a game and spend 15 minutes of it watching a goalkeeper walk from side to side before he takes a goal kick, players going down for 2 minutes for no injury and all we get added on is exactly 3 or 4 minutes which just proves that it is total nonsense.

In the palace game the goalkeeper time wasted at 0-0 and even more so when palace were ahead and he got booked on the 87th minute. They know that no ref will ever send them off for time wasting so they just keep doing it. Stopping the clock would stop all of that, take as long as you want keeper as you’re only allowing the other team a rest before they attack again and the time isn’t even on.

It surprises me that nothing has been done about this yet as it bothers me in almost every game.

It makes perfect sense to me to take the time keeping away from the on field referees all together. A bit like rugby league when times up a hooter goes off. 'Waste' all the time you like the ball will be in play for 90 minutes.

I think the average in the epl is that the ball is in play for about 57.5 mins per game.

The can introduce green card for time wasting and the player should stay off the field for say 5 or 10 min.
