So OGS allegedly told the players their performance was a 'joke' and it was 'embarrassing' how they were failing to finish teams off. Also accused them of playing for themselves, trying the spectacular rather than sticking to the basics, there are individuals who need to put more effort in and are letting down their team-mates.

Then you have Matic comment, which is not surprising since he is not playing. Then whispers surface the senior players don't think the manager is up to the job.

Rinse and repeat because they chose the players over Mourinho who did know what he was doing.

Leicester is a must win game, because we have already had our worst start to the season since 1992 and our worst run since is it the 1930's. The players need to play for the shirt, regardless what they think of the manager.

Agree2 Disagree0

But Redman, he has brought the good feeling back, says all the right things in the press, has cleared the 'deadwood', promotes youth, has us playing a very good brand of football and his in game management is really good. Oh and also, since he took over, check out that league table, he has us near the top.

Jose was just toxic, created a culture and didn't know what he was doing at the end.

You couldn't make this stuff up, no wait, that's exactly what people are doing.

05 Sep 2019 11:47:00
I forget who said : ‘these players will get Ole the sack’. Dead right.

Any manager is on borrowed time until the mentality changes.

05 Sep 2019 13:26:55
Roy keane fresh.

05 Sep 2019 14:18:29
A lot more sensible than the comments he made yesterday leahy 🙈.

05 Sep 2019 15:30:48
weve got leicester, arsenal and liverpool in the next 5 league games in 4-5 weeks time there could be some serious bum twitching going on. i hope we snap out of this poor form otherwise any moral in the team will disappear.

05 Sep 2019 16:48:39
The next five games is season defining already. We are miles off the pace and play the teams that will be around and above us. Could quite easily see us taking fewer than 3 points from Leicester, arsenal and Scouse.

05 Sep 2019 20:30:33
1 step at a time, this is how you build a team .

05 Sep 2019 20:50:35
If you have someone in charge who knows how to build a team Jred.

05 Sep 2019 23:31:48
😂 red man.

06 Sep 2019 02:03:22
How many points from 5 games would have people give Ole and his young team some slack? 15? 10?

06 Sep 2019 05:14:25
Ole can never win over you Redman :)

06 Sep 2019 06:52:27
Dodgy

It’s not the 5 games but the continuation from last season. Why is he having to shout at players after four games. I recall that we were supposed to be having the get fit pre season so we could play a totally different game, we were told to sit back and watch by some on here. Now he is having to take them on.

Looks to me like the players don’t think he knows what he is doing. Under Mourinho they knew what he was doing but decided they didn’t agree so didn’t bother. Now it is different but the same problem. The answer? Get a manager who definitely does know what they are doing and then start booting players out who don’t do it. Any manager who thinks Lingard is the answer is missing something and if that manager thinks the owners have heavily invested it shows him up even more. I heard a rumour that Southgate maybe our next manager, give me strength! The eclectic choice of manager is a problem, being chosen isn’t Ole’s fault, staying on when totally out of his depth, is.

True Red Devil
Difficult but not impossible. If Ole goes to a Newcastle type club and does well over a number of years, then maybe. But none of them would employ him. In fact what other team in a top division of a top league would have Solskjaer as manager? Do let me know.

{Ed047's Note - err, none.

06 Sep 2019 09:26:12
You know the story is from the Sun right? - Why would you even give it the time of day?

06 Sep 2019 09:33:43
If he didn't pull them up, you'd be saying he's too soft on them. He can't win.

06 Sep 2019 09:34:34
And, 'looks to me like', doesn't count as evidence.

06 Sep 2019 19:26:37
Roy keane would of been a better choice than OGS after Jose with maybe Scholes as his calming influence. OGS will not see out this season i'm sorry to say. 🙁🙁.

07 Sep 2019 05:47:54
ReaLLY Early days for ole but already some won't be happy until he is sacked .
Wanting a manager sacked before a ball is kicked all because he isn't a big enough name .

07 Sep 2019 10:23:53
It's those above OGS that need the sack but that's not going to happen any time soon. I'll support the club and the manager but I an realistic in the fact he is not good enough.

Nothing to do with a 'big name'. you are always so concerned about big names 😂😂.

07 Sep 2019 10:59:08
‘Must win game’, 🙄.

07 Sep 2019 12:46:06
Some couldn't wait for jose to be sacked some couldn't wait for lvg to be sacked lots of fans calling for them to be fired.
Ole needs to be getting better results then 95% of people will not want him fired.
Its early days this season apart form 2 teams nobody has been great. If ole and his squad start to improve results there will be less questions its as simple as that. If the results don't improve he will be fired i'm sure.

07 Sep 2019 14:43:12
Ken the vast majority waited at least a couple of seasons.

07 Sep 2019 14:49:11
Ken your probably like a lot will continue to judge ole (and the players) on a game to game basis .
Win a couple, couple of good games everything is ok, lose a game then, well just look at some of the comments after palace .

For some ole will never be a big enough name, every issue in the world will be related back to him .

Others will judge him over a period of time and on the direction he is taking the team .
People would like to fall into the later but true colours are shown after a defeat.

07 Sep 2019 23:16:53
Jred

Please get it into your head, it’s not about it being a big name, it’s about OGS’s complete lack of any relevant experience. He has nothing to suggest we should blindly, like nodding donkeys, just support him. If it doesn’t work it would be disaster but some have this warm emotional glow when they talk about him that means he gets time for them at least, they refuse to see he could take us on a disastrous path.

08 Sep 2019 06:03:15
Red man
Please get this in to your head, it not about blindly supporting someone like a nodding donkey .
It about given a manager or a player a chance to prove one way or the other he can do a job .
From your armchair you really have no idea what ole is about.
Any manager even with a great cv can fail .
Ole maybe hasn't got the CV to make him a big name in your opinion, but to say you want him sacked before a ball is kicked is the exact opposite to supporting your club .

{Ed047's Note - any chance you could explain to me how not wanting a particular manager at your club means you don’t support your club?

08 Sep 2019 08:52:21
Jred

The Ed asks a good question, look forward to your reply

I don’t have to defend my support because I have been there and done it, stood by after relegation and when we became European Champions. I never called for Jose’s head because he was a proven winner, I trusted that he would have got us back to a top position, if supported by the board and he wasn’t. I support the club and the team, have done for over 50 years, the manager and individual players are transitory employees who do not have an automatic right to be supported by happy clappers.

If we brought in a player from a Sunday pub team and he was crap, your argument is that we should be cheering his every move, no matter what. It’s the same folly that had a banner put up for Moyes. Ole has 3 wins from 17 or whatever and the Watford manager has just been sacked with a better record.

09 Sep 2019 05:30:04
It's simple ever manager needs time.
This whole cv things is wearing thin, jose had a magnificent CV but was a poor fit . Although like his cv suggested he had a 3rd season melt down .
It's to early to judge ole .
If we brought in s player from a pub team he should also be given a chance before being judged.

{Ed047's Note - that’s pretty much nailed it jred, there’s no way on this earth you’d bring in a pub player but that’s pretty much what you’ve done with your manager.

But you’re happy so it’s cool.

09 Sep 2019 13:35:40
Another silly analogy.

09 Sep 2019 08:19:25
Well said Ed47

Jred says Mourinho had a poor fit, yet Ole is also a poor fit based on experience. But it’s ok because we can trot out legend, DNA nonsense on repeat. It’s become a cult .

Ole was going to get them all super fit in pre season, that went well didn’t it, now we are getting injuries. It was obvious he didn’t have the necessary experience yet now on a run of relegation form, we are brow beaten that we should give him time, unspecified time, time that could put us in the bottom half of the table if it continues . Goodie, next season we will be avoiding relegation with this path. Not acceptable and we need to beat Leicester or your beloved cult figure may be on borrowed time.

09 Sep 2019 19:32:16
Jred i have not judged ole at all. I am still supporting him. Not once have i said he should be fired. Get down off your high horse and don't tell people how to support the club. Ole has had an awful run of results this season has started in the same vein as last season. Losing matches we should have won if he doesn't reverse that trend i think he will be fired.

I said judge him at xmas. 1 year into his job. If the team are playing well and getting results then I've no issue at all with ole.
Since the psg game we have only won 3 games or so. Its an awful run of form and that needs to turn around. Players are still needing in new signings and promoted youth players. He has taken 3 significant gambles that need to pay off this season.

1. Keeping Pogba
2. Not replacing our strikers and backing the youth of martial rashford and greenwood.
3. Not replacing herrera .
I hope Pogba holds it together for the season and that the goals begin to flow and our conversion rate improves. Od like nothing more than to see ogs succeed. He has the job and he needs too imorove results to keep it.

15 Sep 2019 22:33:50
Agreed with this Ken. This was why I asked how many points front he next 5 games people would be happy with. It helps to bring some time and perspective.

A run of 5 Loses would probably have seen Ole fired on top of previous trend of results.

First game down with a Win.

So is 4 wins and a loss enough for everyone to feel we are going in the right direction? 3 wins a draw and a loss? That form would probably be somewhere between 3rd and 6th if it played out for the rest of the season. Let's face it, that is where we are headed.
