This not a Podgba criticism, but watching our games recently, that we cannot seem to move the ball from back front without passing to Pogba, he does always show for the pass, but it appears players feel they have to include him in all plays. This can slow our forward play a lot of time.

Agree0 Disagree1

The thing is mate, if he doesn't show for the ball, people will call him a coward and say he goes missing 😁.

Redconl i think that might have something to do with the fact that we have no one else in the team with an eye for a pass other than pogba.

We are attempting a rebuild but i fear that keeping pogba as such a fundamental and integral part of the team means we are building our foundations on quicksand.
I think his attitude has been fine and i hope he continues to make a positive contribution.
Im not sure if he should not play as the most advanced of the 3 midfielders in oles system.
1. It would reduce the amount of times he loses the ball in dangerous areas.
2. He would get into the box more.
3. We would have less gaps in our midfield defensively.
4. We might benefit more from his vision and creativity.
5. He might start enjoying himself.
He looks like a guy carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. Things have to change with him if he has to stay ole has got to find a way to ease the burden on him imo.
He has to be able to handle the criticism and pressure and use it as a motivation to imorove.

Your right nou.
He does not go missing when it comes to looking for the ball and is happy to take it no matter where he is and no matter who is around him. His recovery when losing the ball is sometimes when he does go missing.
When coaching i used to tell the players the pitch is not on a hill. So if you can run at a high speed when attacking you should be able to run at the same pace when required to fill holes in defence. He doesn't do that more often than not and playing in midfield it leaves huge gaps. Its been tolerated and indulged for too long imo.

You obviously didn't play on some of the pitches around Aberdeen 😁.

Play him at 10, let him have a free reign linking midfield and forwards. He isn't disciplined enough to lay box to box, he loses the ball too easily. But he is big and powerful, has a few tricks, and would scare the crap out if the opposition playing at 10.

I agree ajh it would take a lot of responsability off his shoulders.

25 Aug 2019 20:40:36
The issue with that is our midfield would be very immobile, a bereft of creativity.

Ole rightly doesn’t trust Fred.
Perreira is poor defensively.

That leaves Matic and McTominay in the centre, and I don’t think they work as a two. I just don’t think we have enough quality in midfield, and Herrera is going to be a big loss this season.

If Pogba moves to no 10, Matic may be back in the team.
