Today was excellent football for Ole, and that's a problem. The main thing people say Ole will deliver is exciting attacking football. The reality is that if today's second half is what Ole views as excellence, we are never going to be exciting or effective in attack.
Is he a cheerleader or a manager, or just so out of his depth that he doesn't realise what excellent football looks like?

What exactly do people expect a manager to say to the press?
We all thought Mourinho shouldn't have been airing the dirty laundry in public.
Also how is what Ole is saying now any different to what Sir Alex used to say?
People need to stop listening to managers in press conferences. It scripted for the most part. A multi million pound international brand doesn't release anything to the press without it going through a process.

ole is a yes man bought in to apease the fans. he looks like a kid in candy store. he talks the talk but is now finding out its a mans job.

the ones when he was first appointed were shouting a new begining somebody who gets the club. like i said he talks what the fans want to hear. the quicker you get those rose tinted glasses of the better.

No Shappy not those fans who can clearly see he is out of his depth and never really saw him as the right choice from day one. He is appeasing those fans who act like ostriches and dig their heads in sand and say everything is fine and we have a plan. Sound familiar to you?

Ole's last 15 games - 3 wins, 3 draws, 9 losses Is that relegation form?
Some will coo over his DNA whilst we slide down the slippery slope to ignominy and mediocrity. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a legendary player but should never have been given the job permanently.
United were only 2,500 to 1 for relegation before the season, I think we will avoid it but at best mid table and be unable to attract players to play for a manager who has no pedigree.

It says a lot about the club if they are writing a script before the match about a home game with Crystal Palace in which we lose!
I love Ole for the player he was, the person he is and the memories he gave us. Top bloke, no question.
He was, in my opinion, a very good and clever short term appointment to 'steady the ship'. But the club were then too hasty in making it permanent on the back of a few good results.
I actually like the idea of having a young manager with fresh, new ideas who will give the youngsters a genuine chance, so in theory Ole fits the bill. Unfortunately though, instead of fresh ideas, he seems to be trying to emulate the past. We all know what a legend SAF is, but the game has changed so much in recent years. We need to be looking forwards, not back.
To be fair I think most of us wants Ole to succeed - well apart from Red Man! - but so far he hadn't looked like it. I can see why he gets labelled with such terms as ' the cheerleader' because he does just look like a fan managing his favourite team.
He, and the team need to do more than they currently are. Much more.

Everyone would like Ole to succeed, as Betty says, he is genuinely a top bloke.
The evidence, however, points in the opposite direction.
From Feb on last season was a disaster. He promised a clear out and revamp in the summer to ensure only players committed to the club would survive. His transfer team failed him, but he trotted out the company line that the window was a success. We now have a squad almost entirely lacking in midfield creativity, and very one dimensional in attack.
The summer was spent drilling the side on how to attack with pace and precision. Fine, unless you come up against a team who sit deep to nullify your pace. Against these teams you need guile in midfield and a powerful target in the box. Thanks to failures in the summer, we lack the capacity to change things up in this way.
This squad remains miles off challenging for titles, and will struggle to finish in the top 4. Ole must know this, but is happy to come out and say that a 2-1 defeat at home to a poor side constitutes excellent football. The club has set him up to fail, and his awareness that he isn’t in the job on merit makes it difficult for him to criticise those responsible.
I predict that supporters will be openly calling for his head before the new year, but the truth is he should never have been put in this post. Biggest worry now is that it will be difficult to convince any top quality manager to replace him.
