I remain skeptical about what we can achieve this year, we seem woefully short on depth both in the forward and midfield areas, but I'm also glad that we are at least starting to re-engineer the dynamics of the team, eschewing quick fixes. We all know we need better midfielders but spending £80m is no guarantee of anything, past purchases considered. First of all we need an identity.
Now is the time to do what we are doing, letting the likes of Rashford, Martial, McTominay, Lingard and Fred prove they can rise to the level required for a place in a top team. It has taken 6 years but one could make the argument that it is only now, after the elevated expectations and arrogance of the Ferguson era have finally been laid low, that the real rebuilding work can begin.

Yes! Youth players learn from being thrown into adversity. Forget all this nonsense that players need a safe easy route to becoming top players. The only way young players truely learn is through the safety wheels being cast aside and letting them loose on the halfpipe.
Love the transfer window. Now we really find out about the squad. More excited about this season than I have been for the last 10. (And yes, I mean 10, remember how dull some of those last fergy years were? )

There will be ups and downs, but I feel, at last, that we have made some positive steps in the right direction of what will be a journey of more than one season.
We seem to have decided to start to trust the young talent we already have to grow into men. Long may it continue.

Lingard? He's a championship player at best should be nowhere near our starting 11.

Fred hasn’t even convinced Ole that he’s worth a place on the bench, and Lingard has had ample time to prove himself.

Fred had less time than anyone else in pre season so hasn't been involved.
Managers keep picking lingard. Maybe there the idiots and not the fans.
