Apparently we turned down an offer of a loan from Everton for Smalling.

I agree but any of those further down the pecking order no problem at all.

what do you think?

Agree2 Disagree0

They can have Jones and we can pay his wages if it means he isn't playing for us all season.
Calamity Jones!

For me any of Smalling, Jones, Rojo and Bailly should be allowed (pushed out the door) to leave if an acceptable offer comes in.

I don't think a loan deal is the right move. They are looking to replace Zouma who's loan finished. However, if Everton have 70m to spend on Zaha then I'm sure they can find the cash to buy Smalling outright.

Rather sell Smalling -walking penalty case and keep Jones personally. Smalling is dire!

07 Aug 2019 15:45:28
Why would we loan him? tiny loan fee although we would save the wages.
Id much prefer to shift rojo smalling is miles better than him.
Jones is too unreliable so i'd shift him before jones too personally.

Before smalling i should say.

Out of Jones, Rojo and Smalling the latter would be the last one of the three I would sell.

However, for me Smalling is at best fourth choice behind Lindelof, Maguire and Tuanzebe.

Bailly was looking much better during pre-season, and I would be tempted to keep him until the end of the season and see what he can do. On the other hand however his injuries are mounting up. Jones and Rojo need to go, but if there are no takers and we have a good offer for Smalling I would take it.

jones rojo darmain bailly should all be gone before smalling

hes not a world class defender but he has on occasions pulled performances out the bag

our 4 defenders should be maguire lind, smalling and tunz for the season

have young as cover for shaw and dalot for wb

the rest can leave.

Rojo should be the only 1 sold.
Smalling and Jones are good back ups.

You never know about injuries.
Football is a squad game.
Now days it's difficult to keep quality on bench.

For me both are excellent back up options to fill in those positions as and when required.
May be the are not up to our expectations.
As long as they are at our club we should respect them.
I don't like when people slate their own players.

Neil, sounds like a plan. However, the problem is the the most likely defenders to be injured are Rojo, Bailly, Jones and Smalling in that order.

So does it make sense to keep them ALL in case two of Lindelof, Maguire and Tuanzebe (our three least injury prone players) get injured.

07 Aug 2019 17:34:10
You know you have just jinxed Lindelof, Maguire and Tuanzebe now Shappy.

Probably 🤷.
