Maguire still playing and captaining Leicester today!
If we would have agreed or close to agreeing deal for him, we would never let such player to play in friendlies and run the risk of getting injured!
Can anyone clarify current situation with Maguire?

If we sign him I'm assuming most United fans will want him to be match fit and sharp?
Surely he has just as much a chance of getting injured playing in preseason friendlies for us as he does Leicester?
In other news, isn't it appalling that Rojo, Jones, Darmian, Pogba and Lukaku are training at United. It could put their possible departures at risk. What are the club thinking?

Actually my question was for Ed's
I forgot mention that.
My concern is why we can't get this deal done early as it is our priority positions to fill in.
Dan James could have been done later rather.
Maguire and Bruno should have been signed weeks ago.
Our first games are against chelsea, wolves and Crystal palace.
We can't afford a slow start to the season.
If we sign Maguire and Bruno near to deadline day, the surely can't feature in first or second games as they will need time to bed in our style of play.
Suppose we are off to slow start to the season the pressure on these new signings will be immense when they will feature for us.
And ole as seen towards the end of last season one we started dropping points wasn't able to get the team together back to winning ways. As he is no where near to sir Alex in that sense.
As under sir Alex we hardly dropped point or lost games continuously.
We were able to bounce back from defeats quickly.
Which I'm concerned we can do under ole.
So my point was we should have done our priority signings weeks ago and the look for other positions such as Dan James.
Our whole reqruitment process is so confusing.

Ever occurred to you that it is easier to sign a player for £15m from Swansea than it is to sign someone for £80m from Leicester? I'm sure we didn't choose to do one before the other, one was just an easy deal. By saying this it just sounds like you are finding a reason just to be negative.

Im not being negetive, I am just concerned by our approach in last few transfer windows.
I can't fool my self and be positive when things are not going well.
It's very easy to be positive but deep down We all know from the time Glazer's took over things are not as they should be and we are falling behind year by year compared to top level clubs.
Some people fool themselves and try to be positive but as soon as we loose 2 games the suddenly panic and start criticising each and every one from top to bottom in our club lol.
Off course if we sign Bruno and Maguire I will b the most ecstatic fan here.
Or we are top four by the time of Christmas.
I will support ole even if things are not going well for us and we are struggling by then.
I am not the person to slate players and staff.
But when i'm concerned I express my self.

Conspiracy theory: can this delay regarding Maguire transfered be due us dithering because we have been offered an alternative CB or perhaps a CB was included in a potential swap of players?
{Ed047's Note - Dev there doesn’t have to be a conspiracy theory because Maguire isn’t here yet.
The club have made countless transfers happen, some quicker than others. Patience is key, if he’s coming he’ll be here.
