The Telegraph is now reporting that Leicester know nothing of a £70mil offer from United and in our last talks which were in May we offered around £60mil and that Leicester value him at £90mil and won't let him go for anything less.
I hope this is true and we don't go for Maguire. He is positionally suspect and combined with Shaw who also gets caught out of position on the left is an expensive disaster waiting to happen. He also has no recovery pace when he gets turned and for that amount of money we should be getting that.
He has some good qualities like he is strong in the air in both boxes and good on the ball. A decent upgrade on what we have but nowhere near what we need to take us to the next level. A fit Bailly won't do any worse imo.

I would go for Ruben Dias. He would cost significantly less, and is already a better player with European experience and has a much higher ceiling.
If we can't sign Dias I would go for a short term option like Alderweireld or try to get one of the Juventus CBs. The CBs at Leipzig are streets ahead of Maguire too and we could get them for that price.
If none of these are possible I would stick with Bailly and Lindelof and invest the money in midfield and attack to balance out for the weaker defense and then look again next year for a CB.

Only a short term option but is a good defender.
Is bailly now fit after his knee injury.
